Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Topaz Gigapixel is an amazing software addition to our design and development departments. It uses AI technology to upscale low resolution images to higher resolution versions with great success. In some cases where images can it be rescanned, and providing they are a satisfactory quality, Topaz Gigapixel upscales the images incredibly well in comparison to Adobe Photoshop.

Pros

  • Upscale images for incredibly well
  • Cleverly fills in lost detail
  • There’s some control or you can also have it fully automated
  • Quick to use

Cons

  • Works really well, can’t think of anything I’d like differently

Likelihood to Recommend

Topaz Gigapixel is a simple and quick, easy-to-use software that does what you need it to - upscaling low resolution images. There are automated options to preview changes and advanced controls of you prefer to manually tweak adjustments to the image. It also has a function for face recognition however sometimes if the resolution is too compressed, it doesn’t work so well.

Topaz Gigapixel AI does a good job at a low cost

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I usually use Topaz Gigapixel AI in several workflows for different aspects of my business. It allows me to use photos for websites and client pages, that normally would be too small. I've been able to save several clients' photos and use them in places that weren't possible prior. It's replaced my prior image resampling software completely.

Pros

  • No effort resizing of images.
  • Sharpens edges as it resizes.

Cons

  • Currently, it doesn't support RAW images. I'd like to see that.
  • It can be slow on older systems. I recommend newer hardware.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you have high resolution images, it does a remarkably good job at resizing and resampling. It has to have something to work with, so I recommend it only be used on good quality images. On four to five megapixel images, I don't think it works as well as on my 20+ megapixel photos.
