Manage, review, demonstrate test results with TestRail
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
I am in testing profile, while working at [...], for managing our tests- creation, writing steps, expected and actual result, screenshots, etc. The tool used was TestRail. It is basically used for managing tests for our releases. It has reports of the tests so that it can be presented to our stakeholders
Pros
- Managing test plans and test cases
- Generation of test results
- Modularised way of storing tests
Cons
- UI has a lot scope of improvement
- Uploading of test screenshots and managing them can be more effective
- User experience can be improved
- Tracking of tests can be more simplified
Likelihood to Recommend
Well suited - where you have a set of cases defined say for regression and then you can mark them as Pass/Fail/Skipped, etc. If you wish to present the impact of certain set of new features, bug fixes, etc, you can use this tool
Not well suited- where the user is naive and don’t have much understanding of test reporting tools as this tool is slightly difficult to learn at a glance
