Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Teamwork is a great tool for keeping everyone on the same page and ensuring smooth collaboration between our employees and external associates. The ability to track projects, manage deadlines, and share various types of content like comments, images, and files can really streamline workflows and enhance productivity. As a manager I find it very valuable.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We manage physical construction projects with the software.

It is helpful in some aspects but very limited in others.

We use the software for time tracking, Planning, Gantt charts and assets management.

The cost tracking is hard since You cannot really add any file (scan or the invoice to be attached), so You have to do it elsewhere.

Pros

It's a good tool to share the project plan with the clients

Cons

Terrible Gantt chart in the browser - bugs all the time, in my opinion.
no option to add the invoices (as a document) in costs, in my opinion
the tasks view is so complicated that we had to use Trello to easy view the tasks
complicated menu - hard to find anything, in my opinion
it's very counterintuitive as a tool, in my opinion

Likelihood to Recommend

I wouldn't recommend it since they are changing the payment plans and raising the prices in the middle of the period that You have already paid for... If I had a budget for PM tool accepted and paid a yearly fee - how can it be raised in the middle of this period... for me, it's highly unfair... Besides, it's a hard-to-navigate tool with everything so complicated, in my opinion. I believe there are much simpler tools out there which do a better job and are more honest when comes to billing.

We used Teamwork to manage all customer onboarding projects in the org along with special customer requests that relied on a team of people who would process the requests. Since Teamwork doesn't have templated projects that suit our needs, we built our own that we copy and then update based on the client, the request, and the actions that need to take place. This allowed us to easily recycle our process which simplified our project management process.

Cons

Performance of the interface - can be sluggish to respond due to how dense the product is.
Centralized 2-factor authentication management for admins - Teamwork doesn't have a system that allows admins to easily see who has 2fa enabled and there are no controls to enforce 2fa.

Likelihood to Recommend

Teamwork is awesome for teams who need a flexible tool that supports all types of projects. Since it supports kanban it makes visualizing the work to be done and the work in progress very easy. The Gantt chart support is decent and helps to understand how a team is doing when it comes to getting work done in a given time frame. Teamwork isn't a great option for companies that have a bunch of projects going simultaneously due to the way Teamwork structures their billing based on a number of active projects.

We use the above-mentioned suite to manage all projects on the go, planning and organizing events and tasks. Adding assignees tasks and time estimates as well as approvals, reporting, scheduling, and Rescheduling tool in our organization. It has been our team's communication Centre whereby they discuss each and every aspect concerning projects and tasks on progress and ahead of us.

[Teamwork Projects] is being used in some of our projects, where to monitor progress and execution it is widely implemented, further it helps to execute the scenarios which were causing disruptions in projects. In a project sub functions or works are planned by timeline with the help of Teamwork projects. In overall assessment of project monitoring by scorecard teamwork plays vital role in reporting. Cost estimation and duration estimation periodically can be obtained like gannt chart etc.

Effective reporting timelines physically vs planned hence it declared actual responsible or delayings.
Reporting related to Cost working, workmen working thier deputation can be obtained in projects and sub projects even in further functions.

Cons

Visualization needs to be improved, charts graphs are limited
Value stream mapping should be available to determine and prioritize the work.
Documentation should be available stepwise with export and printable facility.
It should be configurable like ERP with cross functionalities of different users, where users login, assign and approve the work, job or project details, where it should be collectively effected on a project.
Add many examples, little more AI, Machine learning required for suggestion and recommendation. It would be a plus point

Likelihood to Recommend

[Teamwork Projects is] best where single user handling it, status is being updated by single users, suited for normally small medium non complex construction projects, production setup and services setup.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We create projects, templates, tasks for employees to assign their time to, make use of the ghant chart for tracking project progress to make sure we are hitting our due dates, notebooks for managing items between team mates, messages for keeping track of file locations on dropbox, invoicing for projects that have had a submission and we use it to manage project tasks and have our employees track their time.

Pros

Project templates are a huge asset so we don't have to recreate projects from scratch
Calendar is great for keeping track of company holidays, employees that are off, and project due dates
The ability for employees to track their time via clocking in and out for the day and tracking time for specific tasks for invoicing purposes is great

Cons

Have had problems copying task template from one of our template projects
When I open smaller windows, like for selecting who will be notified for a message, the bottom half of the window is usually below the screen cut off, so I have to move it up manually each time to get to the "update" button
