Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Tableau to analyze the asset data of our clients to manage the inventory lifecycles and monitor hardware and software usage. Tableau helps in generating reports with live data and has improved decision making. I mainly have to make sure that the assets are covered and user we assign permission has the right one which can be identified with its interactive dashboards.

Pros

It has drag and drop feature which makes it easy to create visuals
The dashboard is very interactive and can be managed with just a few clicks.
Tableau can handle large datasets with ease.

Cons

Well, I find the data refresh configurations a little complex.
License can become costly for small organizations
Integration capabilities are very limited

Likelihood to Recommend

I find Tableau useful to analyze and creation of creation of reports easy for daily analysis like the utilization of assets. It also helps find insights like how much assets of a client are going to expire and has to be renews in next 90 days. However, it could become difficult and complex for new joiners to configure the data refresh.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Tableau Desktop to setup our ETL processes for transforming, extracting, and loading our data from different data sources into one master data source. Tableau Desktop is also very useful for visualizations and reporting purposes. They have interactive charts and graphs that are user friendly and non-technical users have been able to utilize the platform effectively.

Pros

Creates effective dashboards and reports to analyze performance
Easy to teach to non-technical users
Easy to import data from multiple sources

Cons

Sometimes takes too long to load data which can be frustrating
If one chart or element breaks, it can affect the whole report and can be difficult to locate to fix
There are limited export options.

Likelihood to Recommend

Tableau Desktop is well-suited for security reasons and if users are going to want to use the platform on their computer as an application. If users are not going to be using it on a regular basis or security isn't as much of an issue, or they do not need all of the capabilities of desktop, than the web version is just fine.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Tableau Desktop as an application that presents statistics. The first advantage is that you can group different sources of statistics in one place. The second is that there is a lot of customization. We increased our use of Tableau Desktop after migrating to GA4. GA4 stopped meeting our needs. All departments are stakeholders, but only the BI department actually creates and edits reports. I am one of the stakegolders.

Pros

Grouping data from different sources.
Possibility of personalization.
Service availability.

Cons

Explanations of data (often, after some time, we do not understand our own reports; there is a lack of legend and description functions).
Sometimes the fluidity is not perfect, which makes it not as enjoyable to use.

Likelihood to Recommend

The best scenario is definitely to collect data from several sources and create dedicated dashboards for specific recipients. However, I miss the possibility of explaining these reports in more detail. Sometimes, we order a report, and after half a year, we don't remember the meaning of some data (I know it's our fault as an organization, but the tool could force better practices).

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Tableau Desktop to analyze engagement and ROI for clients, create interactive and aesthetically pleasing custom reports as requested by clients, and to examine various internal queries relating to sales, retention, churn, and lifecycles. Tableau Desktop saves a lot of time and is easier to use than Power BI.

Cons

Training on calculations could be more 'laymen' friendly
Date data is very difficult to scaffold when there are days with no data
Included iconography (Shapes) could be much more modern and robust
Should be able to truly update all colors/fonts/backgrounds globally in workbook dashboards

Likelihood to Recommend

Tableau Desktop is very well suited for presenting data in meaningful and interactive ways. The learning curve is a bit steeper than expected for true beginners, but there is bountiful information available online and in their community. It would be helpful if their eLearning used some more in depth, real world examples of data -- as is, it's too clean and not representative of most databases. They would also benefit from having an archive of use cases so you can learn based on use cases as relevant to your needs as possible. For organizations who don't need to expose interactive dashboards to end users and only need to present static reports, it may be overkill. It would be nice if view-only didn't require a license.

1-Less time required to pull and prepare data

2-Flexiblity to explore and try new things
3-Share up-to-date dashboard
There is some disadvantage in using Tableau
1-Tableau focus primarily on visualization and can't work with uncleaned data.
2-Lack of data modeling and data dictionary capabilities for data analytics

Making edits to the production reports is fairly tough and has a vast scope of additional capabilities
Tableau Desktop should be able to differentiate itself from the Tableau server else there is no major meaning of two different products being offered

The system can create many different types of charts, and it can automatically determine the best way to fit data into each one. We can import data from Excel or CSV files with ease. In addition, the plots can be tailored to our business and effectively convey information. In terms of the user experience, Tableau Desktop is a straightforward data analytics tool that can be scaled and integrated with a wide range of other applications to provide insights into data.

Tableau Desktop has proven to be an invaluable resource for us. It can collect data like no other system. We use it almost every day to gather data and handle large datasets online using spreadsheets or other tools without programming skills. We solved our business problems, analyzed and shared data within teams, and identified trends. It gives us a glimpse into the future of the market. Tableau, a business intelligence (BI) tool for non-IT users, enables them to create dashboards. It provides a variety of graphs, charts, maps, and plots that are integrated into our data. It can connect to a server and import data from it. We use Tableau Desktop to enhance our analysis because it has a beautiful aesthetic.

Pros

It serves as a central repository for all of the company's data.
Intuitive and uncomplicated data management is the norm here.
With this tool, it is simple to discover and explore information.
Tableau's impressive data visualization capabilities allow it to deal with large data sets.
Data visualization of a million rows is possible without affecting the dashboard's performance.

It is cloud-based, which makes it simple to add new plugins. Organizing and scalability are simplified. Tableau Desktop is essential to use data visualization to analyze our business performance and help it meet its objectives. Excel reports offer a data summary to make visuals for presentations and sales reporting more efficient. With these features, we can create a data-driven presentation. It provides the ability to convert between different formats and supports multiple data sources. We can use identical data sources to create multiple sheets, such as Amazon Redshift/Google Sheets.
