Squirrly SEO - A powerful software

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The software is very efficient and easy to use. It has helped with keyword research and content optimization. Moreover, I am able to see the organization's ranking on Google, and the ways in which the rankings can be improved.

Pros

  • Shows the ranking of your organization on Google and suggests ways to improve it.
  • The Focus Pages features improves keyword research and content optimization.
  • It can be easily integrated into WordPress.

Cons

  • Sometimes the server times out when doing keyboard research which can cause users to repeat tasks, thereby frustrating users.
  • The UI needs to be updated as there may be some bugs/threats on there.
  • It is a bit expensive, therefore a more affordable price would be preferred.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is lightweight, very efficient and can be integrated in WordPress as well. When organizations want to optimize their content online, Squirrly SEO is probably the best option. It shows you exactly what needs to be improved on your page and makes suggestions. Moreover, the Focus Pages feature scans your pages and provides you with a probability of your ranking for the specific keyword.

Simplify your Wordpress SEO optimization strategy

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Squirrly SEO has been an easy tool to integrate SEO tools and tasks into Wordpress. Being able to access a keyword suggestion tool, rank tracker, and apply content optimization from the backend of a WP site and give a team member access is extremely helpful. The live assistant and focus pages make coordinating SEO tasks easy to accomplish.

Pros

  • Content optimization
  • Provide SEO tasks for a beginning user to follow.
  • WordPress site optimization.

Cons

  • User interface could use an update.
  • Would be nice to have less branding and plan info on the backend.
  • Wish it worked with more page builders on the front-end.

Likelihood to Recommend

Squirrly SEO is especially suited for a Wordpress website owner wanting to up their SEO game, but not knowing where to start. Squirrly does a great job of walking a beginner user through the steps to meet their site optimization goals one focus page at a time. Once, you get over the dated UI Squirrly really offers more than other Wordpress SEO plugins.

I bought the 3 site pack for £100 for the year, followed the guidelines to build focus pages of +1800 words, that's when the plugin failed miserably. Despite actually writing 2000 word, the plugin only saw 328 words so I couldn't get past that stage of the plugin. Support told me to deactivate plugins, but this is an active eCommerce site, getting sales is one thing, SEO is tough enough, and I don't need to have to fight the plugin as well.

The Keyword search tool is a good feature, but you have a limitation of how many times you can use it, (50 was my limit) before you had to stump up some more cash, and the emails... oh the amount of rubbish these guys throw at you, someone needs to install a filter in there, cos they seem to think that now you have spent some cash, they have every right to market to you on a daily basis.

Pros

  • The Keyword research tool is okay.
  • The features list is impressive.
  • The after sales marketing materials are overwhelming.

Cons

  • Separate the marketing emails from the knowledge based emails.
  • Fix it so the plugin just works... like Yoast does.
  • Get live chat.

Personally I found the plugin didn't work on my Woocommerce shop. Initially I had Yoast Pro installed, Squiirly recognised I had another SEO plugin installed, but misidentified this so couldn't import any settings. After writing a long post Squirrly recognised less than 20% of the words. This plugin should still be in beta, too buggy, in my book a waste of £100, I'm back to Yoast.

We do not blog much however when we do all pages and posts run through Squirrly. It keeps our SEO strong.

Pros

  • It simply works
  • It reminds you to consider keywords and tags
  • The best feature is that it’s simple to use even I can use it

Cons

  • It could have better training materials as it was quite hard to figure out what to do the first time
  • Plus they seem not to segment their list as I get sales messages to buy
