Great way to collect info - easy to use!

Pros

  • Quick and easy access, nice interface when logging in.
  • Access to customer's info, easy to change user names and passwords when issues arise with login.
  • Easy to use for the most part - a lot of ways to search for information regarding customer's info.

Cons

  • Searching by email is difficult sometimes. There is no way to sort customer lists by most recently logins, etc. It can cause lengthy searches when trying to locate.
  • Issues with hackers, security seems low at times - firewalls need to be improved.
  • There needs to be more search fields for things like phone numbers, addresses, etc.

Return on Investment

  • We've had some issues with hackers, Spree did a good job to improve security so that customer info is protected.
  • We can really cut down on phone time with customer info updates, allowing for us to on more important tasks
  • We can search for customers, previous orders, etc. With our old ERP system, we didn't have that option, we now have that on both Spree and Netsuite.

ATS perspective

Pros

  • Simple platform to post jobs
  • Straightforward record of job applications

Cons

  • For the ATS portion, ability to download applicants would be helpful
  • We have to use our developers to change some simple things on the web format

Return on Investment

  • We are able to quickly post and update jobs with minimal implementation time

How we use Spree

Pros

  • Highly customisable. Allowed our developers to generate a unique and flexible front end and cart facility.
  • We handle 2 warehouses and plan to add several more.
  • We use 13 currencies to cater for our main markets.

Cons

  • No particular weaknesses reported by our developers. They are using Spree on other sites too.
  • Back end is visually ok rather than cutting edge design but functionality is all there.

Return on Investment

  • Spree is a shopping cart and so is back-office. The key point is that it allowed us to build a fully customised front end which has allowed us to increase sales dramatically as part of an overall marketing strategy.
  • It is robust and copes with our peak loading.
  • Promotions are flexible but may need initial developer input to customise for a particular business.

  • Needs very detailed documentation as to how calculations are made. For example, tax totals, shipping totals, etc.

Return on Investment

  • Decent plugin ecosystem
  • Easily add and manage new products
