We use Snow License Manager to monitor our license positions and keep track of obsolete licenses, to search for hardware specifications, to see who is using which hardware and how often applications are being used. It is a major tool for us to discuss the used licenses and the need for end users to use specific licenses.
Pros
Monitor used software
Discover used hardware
Report license compliancy
Cons
Building OS agents via Snow License Manager instead of requesting them via support
Detecting roaming licenses from for instance Flexera
Likelihood to Recommend
It takes a lot of work and communication, but Snow License Manager helps by making end users aware of their software usage and license needs. It also protects the business for license claims because invalid software can be removed as soon as they are being detected. It also helps when software companies do an audit since Snow License Manager supplies reporting accepted bij for instance Microsoft of Adobe.

Snow License Manager (SLM) is used as a tool in our Software Asset Management function. It allows us to obtain a compliance position, and report on licenses, installations and users of software on end-user devices and servers. The license intelligence applied with this solution saves great deal of time when handling applications and their licenses, as the correct metrics will nearly always be automatically selected for a specific product. SLM has a wealth of reports that we regularly use, it's also a useful tool for audit against our CMDB, to confirm hardware configurations.
Pros
Reporting
Compliance
Visibility
Cons
Automation for assignment of Microsoft server licences
Organisational structure tool
Power BI front-end to allow reporting for non-Snow users (snr Management)
Likelihood to Recommend
Snow License Manager is an excellent tool, allowing us to provide accurate information where there is a limited scope to the report, e.g., identify who has application X installed. One issue we have (due to the amount of information Snow gathers), is when users request a report with a broad scope. E.g., provide me with all information you have for all applications on all computers. (This is our usual starting point). This report is typically millions of rows.

When replacing computers, it is easy to determine which software the old computer has installed in order to supply the new computer with the necessary software. Contracts that are to be renewed are automatically presented for renewal.
The content of the cost fields formatted by Snow is displayed as incorrect when a data record is saved again. Saving is only possible after appropriate changes have been made.
