Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I make use of Slido in virtual workshops to hold participants' attention and see if they understand the content. Real-time quizzes and live polls keep online sessions engaging and lead to better learning outcomes. The Slido team gave great assistance early on, providing valuable tutorials that sped up the adoption process for the platform.

Pros

  • It is helpful to use the word cloud feature in brainstorming sessions, as it shows everyone’s ideas in real time.
  • The feature lets people ask questions anonymously, so everyone has a chance to have their concerns heard.
  • Assessments in training work well with the quiz mode, as scores are provided instantly. It is easy to use Slido together with Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

Cons

  • A key issue I’ve noticed is that not having a mobile app means some users may not be able to join in if they’re away from their computer.
  • Offering a mobile-friendly design would increase ease of use for all participants.
  • Some users have problems keeping track of several polls that are open at the same time.

Likelihood to Recommend

Slido is most helpful in structured training because interactive features can improve learning outcomes. Difficulties may arise with free discussion in brainstorming sessions because the platform is built on structure.

Efficiently assists in events of different sizes and formats

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In our corporate events we use Slido to allow audience interaction and collect feedback. We address the problem concerning the lack of audience interest in big places through the hosting of live polls and Q&A sessions. This strategy has changed our events to more participatory experiences.

Pros

  • With Slido’s interoperability to different platforms of presentation possible, it is easy to include interactive components.
  • The real time display of poll results and questions helps to engage the audience and brings them real life insights about their stand on the issue.

Cons

  • The data export capabilities of the platform have to be enhanced. Better exporting and analysis of the audience reaction would facilitate post event assessments.
  • The customization of the platform in more branding would help align with our corporate identity.

Likelihood to Recommend

Slido is very effective in large conferences where audience participation usually is not high. It creates an environment in which the participants can share their thoughts and questions, which increases the overall experience of the event. Contrarily, for more casual, smaller get togethers the features may be excessive for the platform.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I was able to use Slido in a training presentation. This allowed for user engagement during the training session. I could put a pre-created poll together and then unlock it during the presentation and collect real time data. With this real time data, I can then pivot and move to a new topic, or stay and focus on an existing topic.

Pros

  • Great cost entry point to try it out.
  • Helpful user interface to explain functionality and tools.
  • The ability to turn the survey on and off was seamless....allowing for testing it ahead of time.

Cons

  • Although it was visually appealing, it had kind of a whimsical look to it, which may not sit well in all professional atmospheres.
  • Nothing else bad to share, the software is very well prepared.

I have already shared Slido in a College Composition class that I am in. The teacher was instructing using Survey Monkey, and I presented to the class using Slido as an alternative. The software is user friendly, and simple enough, that it can be used in a class environment for simple teaching on how to start with polls and surveys.
