Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Skilljar by Gainsight as our customer education platform. The business problems that the tool addresses revolves round product adoption and delivering different flavors of content to our customer base. Some customers retain information via reading through Help Center Articles, others through live events, and a good portion being self-led learning paths and certification courses. Given the demand and results on product adoption - Skilljar by Gainsight has equipped us with the necessary tools so that we can deliver this flavor of content.

Pros

  • Intuitive UI & Design in learning paths
  • Certification Programs
  • Integrations to other tooling especially the broader GS ecosystem

Cons

  • Direct integration with Gainsight CS

Return on Investment

  • Higher NRR/GRR in trained customers
  • Visibility into other self service tooling

Excellent tool for small companies wanting to grow

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I'm sort of in a hybrid role of managing student/course management and engineering the design for the platform. I was initially tasked with rebranding our Skilljar domain to match our company branding. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the platform was well documented and provided me with plenty to go off when it came to things like CSS/Javascript/HTML. Our company has a small development team of just 5 engineers that manage four web applications, including our Skilljar LMS. The platform certainly empowers me to do alone the amount of work that would take a much larger team of engineers and support. For that reason, Skilljar is worth it!

Pros

  • Documentation
  • Support
  • Scalability
  • Features

Cons

  • More clarity for where to apply CSS/HTML styling
  • More flexibility for styling coursebox layouts

Usability

Return on Investment

  • Increased Revenue

  • Faster Product Adoption

Modern, Scalable, Easy to Use Customer Education Platform

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Skilljar is the hub of our product & tech stack ecosystem for customers, partners, and internals. It is used to increase product proficiency, reduce support dependencies, and help customers realize a faster ROI through self-led micro-learnings, learning paths, and certifications. It can also be used for internal training and works great for role based product and toolset training.

Pros

  • Unlimited courses, learning paths, quizzes, pages, plans, and certifications
  • Ease of use for students, administrators, and content creators
  • Customer Success and Service are top notch. The CSMs are genuinely committed to helping you achieve your metrics and goals
  • Asking for and listening to customer feedback for enhancements
  • Developer Center where people with little to no coding experience can learn how to use and apply HTML templates and code snippets to customize your site

Cons

  • Difficult to integrate learning data with other systems unless an add-on is purchased
  • Gamification is lacking however, new features are in the works so solve for this
  • Limited integrations for payment processing

Usability

Return on Investment

  • Improved case deflection
  • Higher self-service rates
  • Increased product adoption and engagement

Excellent tool for education Customers, Partners, and employees alike.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I run our partner enablement program, which has me using Skilljar every day. We have a partner certification program through Skilljar that integrates directly with our application. Users follow step-by-step instructions in our Academy (Skilljar frontend) to configure use cases in our software. Once a module is complete, users click a verification button in a widget within our application. This triggers a work check to see if they configured the use case correctly. Upon a successful check, our application calls into Skilljar API to unlock the next Module in the Academy. Skilljar is super easy to integrate with for this purpose. The API documentation is great, and the customer support is superb.

Pros

  • Integration
  • API documentation
  • Certification programs

Cons

  • Create certificates in format other than PDF.
  • More / better analytics.
  • Faster ticket response.

Usability

Return on Investment

  • Improved customer retention.
  • Increased awareness and confidence in overall usability of our products.
  • Increased revenue via educating advisory/systems integrator partners so that they are more likely to recommend us in evaluations.
