Coming back after 7 months of hosting to add more details. After looking at a few hosting providers, SiteGround offered the best dedicated hosting for our website at <a href="https://thereach.ai/">https://thereach.ai/</a> , with a global CDN coverage included in the price and very good wordpress support - tools, features and after I discovered the plugins that come with it - SEO, website optimization, cache etc.

Cons

A lot of their competitors offer freebies, like Google ads credit or 1 year free SSL and stuff like that. I understand that for a small company that's a big cost, but wouldn't hurt for them to enter in a partnership with someone and offer things like this.

We used Siteground as an all-in-one solution for purchasing a domain, shared website hosting, and email for our business website. We wanted a platform that was user-friendly and easy to navigate on the technical back end. Through C Panel, we set up a self-hosted Wordpress website, including e-commerce, and were able to set up multiple mailboxes. We needed a solution that allowed us the ability to do things ourselves but also have support when needed.

Cons

Some nested menus can make certain things hard to find.
Too many add-ons/upsells at times.
Domains are more expensive than other sites.

Likelihood to Recommend

I have always found Siteground easy to use for setting up a website. They have a built-in Wordpress installer that makes going from hosting to building a simple process. When I've encountered issues, I've found their customer service always to be available and responsive. They've even gone above and beyond to help resolve specific technical issues outside of the service. It is also, overall, a very affordable hosting provider. If you need large bandwidth or highly advanced features, you would want to look at packages or providers that would support those options.

Personally, I wouldn't suggest SiteGround and encourage people to find other providers. I find that their services are really not at par in terms of the needs of most companies that want to host a website. These days with WordPress you are required to install a lot of plugins, and with SiteGround this can cause many issues with reference to memory and other problems. In fact, I had a special "tweak" cheat-sheet that I would keep around just to get around some of these issues.

There is a limit of total file space on the package.
Need to commit to 1-3 years upfront to get special price.

Likelihood to Recommend

SiteGround is great for WordPress hosting or host basic HTML pages, which are great for quick landing pages.

If you are a small/medium company and don't want to worry about hosting and emails, SiteGround has a stable environment and superb tech support if needed. Easy to set up. The speed of the page loads are very good too. Weekly malware and security scans are done. And daily backups are available if something happened to your site.

SiteGround Web Hosting can be a tricky thing, from implementation, to transfers, support, installation etc.. there are all kind if items that can come up when it comes to hosting. Most importantly, its having someone on your side to help you with all these issue. While its true that SiteGround Web Hosting has an amazing offering on the technical part of the business, the reason why I really like to use and recommend their service is because of their support. There are plenty of companies out there that can offer web hosting but not many that can do it like SiteGround Web Hosting.

Pros

The technology on their server side is top notch, fast and reliable.
They offer automated updates and reminders.

Cons

The only thing I can gripe about is pricing, but I feel it's justified based on how excellent their customer service and technology is.

Likelihood to Recommend

SiteGround Web Hosting is fantastic for Wordpress hosting. I have not tried, and so I cannot comment on their other hosting services. It is also useful if you are needing a lot of guidance and support and not just a company that is going to push you off to someone else or make you feel like you are annoying for calling and asking for support.

SiteGround is privately owned and was founded in 2004. It’s based in Bulgaria, where it has two offices. It also has an office in Madrid, Spain. SiteGround’s website promotes different types of hosting; it offers dedicated, cloud, and VPS plans, in addition to shared hosting and WordPress. Customers benefit from the basic CloudFlare CDN plan, free SSL certificates, and free daily backups of their website data on the server. Unlike some hosts, it has made sure that its shared plans are packed with features.

So far so good. But what is SiteGround really good at? Ask any customer — like me — and support will be top of their list. From experience, I’ve also found that uptime is impressive.

Pros

You get a number of page views as a guide to your bandwidth, and a fixed amount of disk space on the server. So you know what you have to work with. No hazy promises of “unlimited” resources.
If you pay more, you’re allocated a server with fewer accounts, so there’s less chance you’ll be slowed down by your neighbors.
Its self-help material is pretty good — close to InMotion Hosting for knowledgebase quality.
SiteGround tackles slow speeds from all angles, using SSD storage, Nginx, SuperCacher, CloudFlare CDN, and HHVM.

Cons

Plans don't offer a lot of storage, bandwidth.

In my testing, SiteGround consistently exceeds its uptime guarantee of 99.9%. Over the first four months using my plan, Pingdom reported monthly uptime figures of 99.51%, 100%, 99.93%, and 99.99%.

I can’t take these as a wholly accurate measure of SiteGround’s uptime, because Pingdom only checks my site every 5 minutes. So if my site goes down for a second, Pingdom can’t record it as less than a 5-minute outage. And I’m only looking at one server, so there are bound to be variations. But even at face value, the downtime I’ve experienced has been minimal. If you do experience downtime of more than 0.1% annually, you’ll be compensated as follows: 99%-99.9% uptime: 1 month of free hosting. Every additional 1% below 99% uptime: 1 additional month of free hosting. Most hosts measure downtime monthly, not annually, so beware of this slight difference.
