Signal Open Source Messenger is a great solution for end-to-end encrypted messaging across our organization. We use it for working groups, and invite new partners into dedicated groups that allow us to securely communicate across a variety of regions. It also allows a decent transfer of photos and video files, password updates, etc. in a secure context.

I recommend all my colleagues use Signal Open Source Messenger, and I have referred many partners to use it as well. It is helpful to know that from device to device, our communication will not be easily intercepted. I also use it to securely transfer information between my devices, such as a new password.

More and more we need reliable and secure communication tools as corporate espionage is on the rise. Conversations with clients and staff need to be kept confidential. Signal offers one of the highest levels of encryption end to end, and because it's not using the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) the call is not able to be intercepted, and with encryption, not able to be heard by prying ears or messages seen by prying eyes.

Signal is best when you want to keep a conversation confidential. The whole premise of Signal is privacy, based on keeping location, contents, and what's in the content private. By having the delete function and the time limit on messages, as well as auto-delete, messages that are seen are not left on the device longer than they need to be. It's not appropriate for simple regular chatting or sending files that need to be shared. That's not its strong suit. What is its strong suit is the peace of mind that your confidential conversations are meant to be kept that way.

I use Signal as instant messenger of choice for talking to a number of my friends who only use it, mainly for privacy reasons. Signal is a highly secure messaging system that makes it very difficult for outside sources to intercept messages between two people. I have a number of friends and colleagues who are highly concerned about privacy and refuse to use any other instant messaging system. While I use a number of instant messengers, I respect this decision, and thus I use Signal to engage with them. I also prefer to use Signal when discussing highly sensitive matters that I wouldn't want potentially entering the public record.

Signal is great for high-security applications where privacy is a concern, perhaps because of the sensitive nature of the materials being communicated. For instance, if you are sending sensitive information about a film that hasn't been released yet, and you want to make sure that paparazzi and fans don't get access to spoiler information, Signal is a great way to communicate.
