Use Cases and Deployment Scope

ShipperHQ is being used in our organization to solve the problem of providing accurate shipping rates across all our dynamic products. Since our products are large but not very heavy, it's nice to be able to set up custom carrier rules to make sure our customers are getting the best rate, while also keeping our shipping profitable. They also have a fantastic team to help set up the application itself and help the customer understand how to set up all the custom box sizes, etc.

Pros

Accurate real-time shipping rates through a number of different carriers.
Custom dimensional rules for one-off, and odd product packaging sizes.
Shipping groups to help streamline the shipping of similar sized boxes or use of free shipping, etc.

Cons

Some of the features are a little hard to understand how to set up properly - like dimensional rules.
Would be nice if they provided the ability to print labels directly from within the app.

Likelihood to Recommend

ShipperHQ is almost too heavy-handed for our use case. We are only a single-origin shipper so we don't need the advanced functionality of multi-origin or drop-shipping. It is suited much better for organizations that have multiple origins or that use drop-ship facilities, or even a company managing multiple different eCommerce websites. We opted to go with it because of its great reviews, combined with less than stellar reviews of the competition.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We sell our goods online and shipper HQ works with Big Commerce to make it easy to do so.

Pros

It is easy to batch process orders.
It quickly calculates rates to compare.
It is easy to keep track of orders for future review.

Cons

It doesn't always send emails on manually entered orders.
It would be nice to be able to see each order as you click on it when processing batch labels to be sure you have the right ones.
It should automatically update when new orders come into Big Commerce.

Likelihood to Recommend

Shipper HQ works well with our business. We have many sizes and options of products that require different boxes and shipping methods and this platform works for our needs. Shipper HQ is pretty accurate with its estimations of cost to the customer. It is easy to learn and easy to train someone to use.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use ShipperHQ to provide live shipping rates on our BigCommerce retail platform. This allows us to provide expedited shipping options to customers who opt not to use our flat rate ground method. It also allows us to set up different shipping options for our Canadian customers, which is a huge help.

Pros

ShipperHQ makes providing live shipping rates fairly easy.
It also integrates pretty seamlessly into our BigCommerce platform.
It requires little to no maintenance. There are other third-party apps that we've used that require constant supervision, but ShippHQ is a set it and forget type app.

Cons

The user interface is a little tricky. It is not as easy to navigate as other shipping apps.
I wish that ShipperHQ had the functionality to print shipping labels and manage shipments. We currently have to use a different third-party app for shipment management.
I would also like to see the option for adding shipping rules if shipping management was integrated.

Likelihood to Recommend

We like ShipperHQ for what it is which is-- more or less a live shipping rate calculator. It works well in our BigCommerce platform. But unfortunately, it lacks the shipping management ability to print labels and manage shipments and orders. This makes us have to use a third-party shipping app. This isn't the end of the world, but it would be much easier if we could just do it all from one place.
