We use Progress ShareFile to store Closing Books after completion of an M&A transaction internally and with shared accounts with our clients. We also use ShareFile to upload and then to distribute Closing Books after completion of an M&A transaction when ZipFile distribution is too large to send in an email to specific recipients.
Pros
User friendly
Provides option to send via email or in a link
Easy to change the authorized recipients
Cons
Keep the links available forever without an expiration
Allow users to access a link without registration
Likelihood to Recommend
Progress ShareFile is well-suited for distributing a large volume of documents that would not otherwise fit in an email or for secure messaging options. ShareFile is not as appropriate or user friendly to utilize as a data room for an M&A transaction because it does not have as many tools as other options.

Progress ShareFile allows for transfer of data between our company and our clients in a secure manner. The system provides a portal and secure email transfer of documents. Our business does not accept documents via unencrypted email or attachments to emails and this facilitates that process.
Pros
Secure file storage & transfer
Integregation with signature software
Large file sharing via Outlook add-in app
Cons
Allowing notes posted in the web version to be seen in the desktop app
Permissions to be changed by admin that are not owners of the folder
Allow file conversion to PDF when uploaded
Suggest renaming file for ease of identification

Progress ShareFile can be great when you have a need for secure repository of data, have a place for potential clients to securely upload documents, current clients to access historical documents.
We use Progress ShareFile in our organization to send documents to and receive documents from investors in our company. We would be forced to use a lot of paper sending various documents out throughout the year if we did not have Progress ShareFile, which would be wasting a lot of time and money. We also appreciate that our users can access the documents on an ongoing basis rather than only once when it is sent.
Pros
The user interface is very easy to navigate and understand. We appreciate this from our end as we set up a large number of users, but it is also helpful for those outside our company who do not use it very often. Once they log back in to retrieve a file they need, the navigation is like riding a bike.
The cost of Progress ShareFile is very affordable considering its impressive volume of uses and customization abilities.
Our external users do not access Progress ShareFile very frequently, so the biggest issue we encounter is them forgetting their email or password. It is great that we can go into their profile and reset their password ourselves and help them through every step of the process to regaining access. The process is seamless.
We appreciate that Progress ShareFile can be added to your company's network for easy access as well.

Progress ShareFile is well suited when you need to deliver documents to other people securely. We use the software when we are needing to send documents out that are too sensitive to be sent through email (ex. tax returns, K-1s). If you are only using Progress ShareFile to send regular documents that do not have any sensitive information, it may not be the best tool for that situation. Progress ShareFile is also useful when you need to deliver documents to a large number of people as they can all be kept in the same database. One final scenario where Progress ShareFile is helpful is when you need to be notified when documents are uploaded to a client's folder.

We use it to upload sensitive documents that clients can then download securely. Without it, we would not be able to ensure the security our documents need. I use ShareFile every day, as do all of the other workers. Another feature we use heavily and rely on is the esignature option. That way, clients can sign documents easily.
Pros
new signature ShareFile
quick response time
Cons
clients find it really annoying to log into
clients can't always verify their identity
the signing process is not clear to clients
Likelihood to Recommend
It's awesome for me, very easy to upload documents, very easy to set up the signature but many clients come back to me and don't know how to use it. Needs to be more user friendly, easier to verify identity and easier to log into for elderly people. Elderly people find it hard to manage with. The buttons needed to be pressed should be really big and in the center of your screen, not just on the bottom.

ShareFile is a great alternative to Docusign as it easily allows individuals to sign documents with a simple five digit passcode (so secure but not credit check secure). Also an easy way to provide documents much like google drive or one box. I've used it for years without any issues.
Pros
Document signatures
Sending files to clients
Storing documents
Cons
I think Google Drive has better data syncing
Integration with softwares to allow higher efficiency
Likelihood to Recommend
It is a good software. Prices can be a bit high but for ease of use and for being a cloud based SaaS I think it is highly functional and meets its primary intended purpose as a secure document system that allows transfer of data. I definitely recommend the software for evaluation.
It addresses the need for a secure data repository. It allows me to request and send documents securely, as well as electronically sign documents and send them for signature. I use it for all my secure data storage needs and greatly appreciate it. I recommend it to other CPAs and professionals who need a secure way to store sensitive client data.
Pros
Stores documents for my clients securely.
Allows me to stay organized with folders and subfolders for each client.
With the 365 subscription, I can create documents, spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations within ShareFile.
Allows me to send and request files from within ShareFile.
Cons
I'd like to better know how to use templates.
I would like to have some pre-created templates for clients.
I want more space within my subscription in case I ever run low on it.
I want to be able to send templates to many clients at once, rather than one at a time.

Prior to integration with 365, I had a hard time with using RightSignature (ShareFile) to edit documents. Now with the Microsoft 365 subscription, editing documents is a breeze! Also, within RightSignature (ShareFile), when I sign a document and then view it, the signature placement seems awkward to me. Other than that, I greatly appreciate the secure storage it provides.
We use ShareFile to gather and send sensitive tax documents from our clients and to transmit large files. We also use it to get documents signed, especially ones requiring KBA (knowledge based authentication).
Pros
getting documents signed, especially with KBA
transmitting large files
storing tons of data with the ability to sort/categorize and give various levels of access to different people
Cons
clients have expressed trouble finding/logging into their ShareFile folders
Clients have expressed trouble uploading documents (you have to press upload, then drag in the file then press upload a second time, which most folks forget)
Likelihood to Recommend
ShareFile is great for gathering signatures and storing tons of documents. I wish the client interface was more user friendly. We use it extensively in our CPA firm for our tax and bookkeeping clients.

ShareFile is helping us to send sensitive information securely via email, thanks to its encryption in the transfers. The fact that it is so simple to use, it doesn't take up any time and the possibility to confirm the transfers with signatures is ideal to have total guarantee that the client has received the information in a satisfactory way.
Pros
Easy and intuitive to use
Encryption of information
Data validation
Cons
Maybe it could be integrated with even more applications but for email it is ideal as it can be used with Microsoft 365 and Google
A lower price per user would make it more attractive
It would be appreciated if the standard plan could include more functionalities.
