SeekOut provides an updated database of various talents worldwide.This enables us to avoid the same candidates' visible profile again and again. You can get the necessary information of candidates such as skills, qualifications and achievement. Worldwide access is available. It saves your time by avoiding scrolling through every candidate's profile.

Pros

  • It is customized with boolean search and allows users to merge the keywords with advanced features to get best results.
  • With complex keywords, it searches till best possible outcomes by utilizing powerful filters.
  • It’s basic features is to find the best capable candidates, it sends users personalized messages through email.

Cons

  • I have checked and found, sometimes filters are not the best and it shows profiles that you are not looking for.
  • Sometimes I find candidates I have reviewed disappear from the pipeline.
  • Gathering contact information like email or phone number.

A Great Tool for Understanding the Talent Marketplace

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use SeekOut in my talent research on a daily basis to help inform our hiring partners and senior leaders of talent availability in our target markets, domestic and abroad. SeekOut data, including locational, diversity, skills, and affinity groups are of particular interest as we seek to understand the talent market.

Pros

  • The amalgamation of diversity data across a talent pool.
  • The ability to save projects and profiles in real time, but allow them to be customizable and malleable allowing me to respond to information as I receive it.
  • The ability to develop sophisticated search strings using a seemingly limitless amount of keywords as well as wildcards to capture a wider amount of profiles.

Cons

  • We find that profiles are often times well out of date, sometimes up to 6 months.
  • The system at times seems overwhelmed by the complexity of the search that I build. It will return a number of profiles that do not at fit the search and shouldn't have made the list.
  • We used to be able to exclude industries, skills, etc. They took away that function for those fields, which was actually very useful.

SeekOut More than just a Play on Words

SeekOut is an easy to use platform that helps me source candidates in a new and different way. As a Talent Acquisition Partner, I use SeekOut to source for difficult to fill roles, and to build passive talent pools (for difficult to fill roles). While other tools and job boards can be used for current job openings, Seekout is a quick way to find candidates who possess sought after skills, and to keep those candidates engaged directly. SeekOut helps to form relationships with prospective candidates even before they are job searching!

  • SeekOut gives me more than one way to contact a candidate
  • SeekOut helps to foster a discussion before your competion does

Cons

  • I would like to see more phone numbers (work and mobile)
  • I think a more robust referral piece would be great on the platform
  • A more flexible license model

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

SeekOut is used for sourcing talent and as a resource for us in Talent Acquisition. Similar to other search tools I have used in the past, SeekOut allows you to filter out a lot of candidates based on specific criteria such as location, employers, previous experience, etc., but where I have seen the most use is targeting specific markets when trying to increase representation from a diversity standpoint. Unlike other platforms, SeekOut is much more detailed and allows you to filter out folks who might not be the type of candidate you are looking for if you are trying to recruit diverse folks in a specific market.

Pros

  • Candidate Search - allows you to access many many candidates, even beyond the traditional social channels like LinkedIn
  • Ability to filter by Diversity - helps support corporate D&I recruiting strategy
  • Ability to get a candidates resume or contact information directly

  • Easier integration with Taleo or other Applicant Tracking Systems
  • More contacts a month
  • Trainings on other/advanced functionality of SeekOut
