My Experience with Sciforma

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In my opinion, Sciforma is an end-to-end solution where projects are treated as part of an investment portfolio. I think the interface is very intuitive and very easy to navigate. There are tabs that allows you to jump from section to section. A menu that allows you choose different projects to work from.

Pros

 • Scheduling tasks.
 • Assigning resources and cost items.
 • Managing a team.

Cons

 • This may not be suitable for organizations who are not mature in enough in project management or that have very basic needs.

Having a lot of different tasks to do each day, its project schedule tool allows me to quickly draw project structure, allocate tasks and resources and sync with my teams to stay on schedule. The software helps businesses prioritize projects and meet strategic objectives. It efficiently schedule projects and resources and keep track of different projects at the high level and detailed level. It utilizes full data intelligence and connect all decision makers and stake holders. For PMO, the platform can provide you a status portfolio overview that can quickly spot any issues and drill down to the details to identify the root cause to keep your project on track and on budget.

Complete project management tool, but not intuitive to use.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Sciforma as our primary project management tool. We use it to manage large scale projects that incorporate many different departments that are led by an internal project manager, as well as smaller projects within one department. Its main purpose is to allow our executive leadership insight into a project's status.

Pros

 • The cloud based application allows multiple project managers to collaborate and work together.
 • The application gets updated frequently, and can be customized to your company's needs.
 • Tracking resources and allocation is simple and easy to use.

Cons

 • The largest con for me is the clunky UI. It's not very intuitive, and has a larger learning curve to become a proficient user.
 • Reports are functional, but could use some improvements.
 • It can be slow at times, and you have to wait to make sure your changes are saved before moving on.

Likelihood to Recommend

I can see Sciforma being appropriate for a mature project management team that needs to manage complex projects. I think it has too many features and becomes confusing for end users if you need basic project management and task planning.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have been using Sciforma for two years and we have increased the number of users overtime. We started with less than 40 and are now at 120.

The tool fits our needs very well; it is very flexible and configured to our needs. We started by deploying Sciforma in our IT group and then escalated to other departments. Before using Sciforma we used spreadsheets. They were floating everywhere and it would take 2 hours to build one report. Now anyone can just go in the tool and click on the right tab to see their live report in only a few seconds. The team also wanted to have only one place to input and manage information.

Pros

 • Flexible: I believe it is the best part. The software is completely and especially designed for our needs.
 • Easy to use: any configuration can be done either by us or Sciforma. At first, we would only use the project extension. After a year, we decided to add more users and roll-out time tracking. We did the configuration by ourselves and didn’t need Sciforma’s help. It was pretty easy, even without having a dedicated developer.
 • They have a lot of features: you can start as small as you want and always get more features . This was our case and we haven’t been limited so far.
 • They are methodology agnostic: We use both Agile and Waterfall and it’s great to see it all rolls up to the portfolio level.

Cons

 • Some bugs when the new version was released. But they were very quickly fixed, the Sciforma team is reactive and is always ready to help.

Likelihood to Recommend

Yes, definitely. We wanted a flexible but robust software and Sciforma seemed to be the best fit.
