SAP Supply Chain Management
Rating: 7 out of 10
IncentivizedUse Cases and Deployment Scope
SAP Supply Chain Management solution's two parts were implemented at our organization.
1) Advanced planning & optimization (APO)
2) Event Management (OER - object event repository)
Both were being used by different departments, and not by the whole organization.
APO solution offers integrated functionality for demand, supply, and production planning – as well as global available-to-promise (ATP). It provided functionality for forecasting and demand management with efficient supply network capabilities.
EM offers solution to track object, real-time status, location and expected/unexpected event for within supply chain of our organization.

Pros

- Demand Planning (DP) helps in creating a statistical forecast for product lines based on past history, consumer trends and promotional events.
- SAP EM of Supply Chain Management provides track and trace solution within supply chain network from different location. This provides theft and loss prevention solution for retail.
Cons
- When moving from non-SAP to SAP solution for Supply Chain Management-APO, it may take some time for business users to get use to, as solution provided in user interface sometime seems complex.
- For track and trace solution within SAP Supply Chain Management has scarcity of good resources especially when you want to track custom objects with complex use cases.
