SAP Integration Suite functions as a central integration platform, primarily connecting diverse SAP and non-SAP applications across an organization's IT landscape. In TrustRadius reviews, users frequently deploy it for business-to-business (B2B) and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) requirements, as well as internal application-to-application (A2A) needs, often integrating solutions like SAP SuccessFactors. Reviewers widely commend its extensive adapter and connectivity options, along with its native integration capabilities for SAP backend systems.
While some reviewers note its role in facilitating real-time integrations and achieving cost savings by consolidating middleware, others highlight areas for improvement. Concerns frequently arise regarding its cost and licensing model, cited by 4 out of 9 reviewers, and a desire for enhanced integration and connectivity options. Reviewers also point to a need for more robust enterprise-level features and improvements in the user interface. Overall, the suite is seen as a capable solution, particularly within SAP ecosystems, but with opportunities for refinement.
Pros
Extensive adapter and connectivity options for diverse systems (cloud and on-premise)
Simplified API management and building capabilities
Ease of use and management in its SaaS deployment model
Native integration with SAP backend systems like S/4HANA and ECC
Facilitates real-time integrations and process automation
Cons
Cost and licensing model are frequently cited as areas for improvement
Needs enhanced integration and connectivity options for broader interoperability
Lacks robust enterprise-level features such as detailed reporting dashboards and role concepts
User interface and usability could be improved, particularly for mapping and error reprocessing
Scalability and performance for very large data handling require attention
We use it in combination with the cloud identity services to get and post user information to some of the connected non SAP systems. We are a consulting company and providing managed services for our customers. Another use case is to connect the customer ITSM-systems with our one to gap the bridge between our and the customer ITSM-system so that there is no interruption in the whole process. The customer works in his system and our consultants work in our one.
SAP Integration Suite is great to connect all the different applications in my IT landscape and improves the visibility of those processes. By doing so it’s easier to monitor and support the current organization and make is future proof. We use it for HR and Finance integrations as well as Logistics. Orders coming from our multiple (!) shopify stores are integrated with S4 seemlessly. HR masterdata is synced with our payroll provider etc

To integrate our Non-sap legacy solutions with SAP S/4. Also to integrate SAP Solutions like Callidus with S/4 using SAP Integration Suite. Using to securely transfer files from our SAP system to banks or agents and brokers. Largely we have been using this for all integration requirements. Also for notifications and messaging.
Pros
Process chains can be defined in the integration suite for interfaces and the dependent tasks and notifications
Data mapping and some basic level of data transformation
Centralizing all communication using APIs with external network
Cons
Data Mapping and transformation are very basics. It requires additional tools
Its technical suite
The integration with non-SAP solutions
Likelihood to Recommend
When comparing with other messaging framework applications available in the market, its the best choice for handling the integration with most of the legacy system. IT does require some level of technical setting, configuration and development but is very developer friendly and can used for complex IT landscapes as a central solution for managing integration touchpoints

We use API Management of the SAP Integration Suite to expose web services externally as part of an open strategi. The product helps us expose and protect the API by using API policies. At the moment we are at a starting point, but later on we will scale up the use. In the future use we will use and activate more capabilities of the SAP Integration Suite to embrace more business needs
Pros
Protect API's
Uniform exposure
Cons
Better monitoring and overview of messages
Support for more adapter types
Certificate handling without using OSS
Better and more mature migrations tool from SAP PO to SAP Integration Suite

The SAP Integration Suite is well suited for cloud to cloud scenarios. In our company we have a lot of on-premise to on-premise integrations, so here the we need some more support. Today we are mostly using SAP PO with XI adapters to ECC. Here it's difficult to find support and guidance in migrating these to SAP Integration Suite
