Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use SAP Fieldglass for our contractor’s management, the bid and sow feature’s simplify our requirements fulfilment. The interface for the approvals and the financial aspects are quite useful to ensure we have the budget under control. The notifications and actions on the different steps allows to set controls and follow up.

Connection between Managers, procurement and vendors. Saves a lots of time. Makes the process transparent and efficient. Its like a big support in daily activities. We use the SAP Fieldglass client portal in our organization for recruiting and fulfilling client requirements. Our clients share their requirements in the SAP Fieldglass VMS, and we fulfill them as per their needs. We manage Job Posting details, work orders, timesheets, and all invoices in the Fieldglass portal.

Pros

SAP Fieldglass is a VMS tool that automates sourcing and identifying supplies, reducing time and fulfilling requirements promptly.
Its provide us detailed visibility and compliance in hiring process.
SAP Fieldglass ensures company rules and legal processes during the onboarding and helps to manage the onboarding process.

Cons

First of all the user interface of Fieldglass is very complex especially for new users.
Sometimes face difficulties to create customized reports.
We integrated SAP Fieldglass with our ATS JobDiva, but it's incompatible in Integration with Niche tools.

The good thing is that SAP Fieldglass has an automated function, so we can easily manage the hiring process, check that all workers comply with labor laws, and manage the onboarding process. SAP Fieldglass is a very expansive VMS for small organizations, and the user interface is very difficult to understand for new users.

Our organization used Fieldglass to procure temporary contractors to work in our organization. We are a federal government contractor, so we need many temp workers to work on contracts based on workload.

Pros

Easy to use to search vendors.
Easy to use to post listings.
Ability to submit time.

Cons

Deployment.
Managing vendors can be complicated.
Need to know enterprise code.

Fieldglass is very well suited for our industry. The system is already set up with pre-vetted selected vendors throughout the organization. We do federal contracts, so when the workload increases, we can resort to FG to quickly post listings. The vendors are already pre-vetted, so it cuts off time for background checks and the onboarding process.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

SAP Fieldglass in my organization is primarily used to manage the external workforce like contingent labor and SOW projects. The only issue which we face is in delay of the sync of the information to downstream systems.
It is also used to provide reporting to gain insight into workforce spend and utilization of the same

Cons

reporting functionalities need to have more graph representation
gen ai should be introduced in the tracking of expenses
lack of interactive new age UI

it is well suited to do external vendor management and manage activities related to it.
It is not that great in the process of sourcing and long chain of approvals. Also, it is not that great with managing RBAC and external notifications. Multiple times systems have latency which are very unusual

We use it as a client portal for checking new positions or updates about any position like interviews or job offers or any other relevant updates, also for the onboarding checks and timesheets purpose, although there is a separate team for this

it shows "potential match" error even when candidate is not submitted already, because of any previous submittal of that candidate on any other req
there should be a compulsion for the hiring managers or coordinators to provide a reason while rejecting any candidate
