Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In our company we mainly used this as an erp system to maintain and organize multiple departments like HR, supply chain and finance etc.

Before the implementation we had issues with integrating multiple departments and it also led to slow decision-making so SAP S/4HANA really helped us in integrating all the departments under one roof and helped us reduce manual work. Also helped us to enable data driven approach in our company.

Pros

I really liked its embedded analytics which helped our workers to view the KPIs directly in the workflow. and it also increased the monitoring efficiency a lot.
It helped in reducing manual work and implemented automation in most areas like journal entry and other manual works. It also helped in reducing manual errors in the team with the help of its AI/ML features.
Its integrated procurement is pretty solid with its automated approvals for P2p Process which helped us to ensure compliance with our policies.

Cons

I think it lacks some customization features in workflows. and some of the policies restrict our internal policies so it could be improved a bit.
Initial implementation is somewhat complex to begin with and requires expert to configure and setup.
I also felt the user interface is somewhat complex as well compared to some other similar services.

Return on Investment

In the automating the routine tasks like invoices and other smaller tasks like journal entries it has been solid and improved almost 30-35%
Also reduced the infrastructure maintenance expenses considerably by 20%
But the initial implementation cost was somewhat high and took a chunk of our budget.

We work for multiple clients and our organization who use ERP for finance, supply chain & other areas.

We currently extract the data into the SAP S/4HANA Cloud and also integrated with other products like Ariba, Success factors also for performing unified analytics & reporting to provide real time visibility and also with Databricks for ML based advanced analytics.

We created some KPI's like cost center & profitability list down which helps in cost allocations & payroll, mainly Ariba integration helps us for Vendor management tracking & also for contract automations for better supplier managements.

Improved our accuracy in reconciliations, compliance, operational reporting and enhanced our day-day process efficiency.

We observed & experienced that we need dedicated admin due to complex setup configurations and even for small customizations we are requiring consulting support
For advanced analytics, reporting we often integrated with other like Databricks, PowerBI due to lack of flexibility & customization in reporting
Connecting API or external systems like NON-SAP products and doing analytics is very tough , so we opt for Databricks or other systems for these requirements.
Licensing Cost is little unpredictable when we perform large scale implementation , we sometime didn't get clear breakdown and also consumption patterns

Return on Investment

It helped us to close month end cycles sooner from 9-10 days to 5 days , saved 50% mainly due to manual reconciliations
Improved 15% forecasting accuracy & also better inventory utilizations
Lowered the Total cost of ownership to significant amount & integration with Databricks helped analytics driven insights

Easy of use. Its user interface is clean and intuitive which makes everyday tasks more efficient.
Customer support. SAP S/4HANA Cloud enterprise support and partner ecosystem provide strong coverage.
Easy of integration. Native integration with other SAP solutions is strong.

Cons

SAP S/ 4HANA Cloud is expensive making it less affordable mainly for small businesses.
It takes alot of time to get everyone trained and comfortable with it as its set up and customizations are complicated.
Migrating the system is little complex due to so many customizations.

Return on Investment

The system provides end to end tracking across inventory, production and demand planning. This has helped us respond quicker to disruptions, optimize stock levels and and reduce lead times.
SAP S/4HANA Cloud has provided us with improved logistics and supply chain operations by minimizing errors and enhancing efficiency.
It has saved our time by automation of process flow.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have our one ECC in RISE, second & third are on their way. Additionally we will end up with multiple other products there. We can already see S/4 on RISE helping us from Platform side and it's great to collaborate with SAP. We are looking forward to TM/HANA, EWM/HANA, Global eSPP in RISE on S/4HANA.

Pros

S/4HANA is still the best ERP on planet.
SAP BTP integration makes S/4 even more integrated and one stop solution for customers' need.
