SAP Build is primarily utilized by organizations to extend existing SAP systems through application development and process automation, often as side-by-side extensions for platforms like SAP S/4HANA. In TrustRadius reviews, users highlight its comprehensive suite of low-code and pro-code tools, including generative AI, for accelerating development and providing cloud-ready extensions. Reviewers widely note its no-code development features, with 4 out of 8 reviewers commending this aspect, alongside robust workflow automation capabilities and strong integration with other SAP applications, as key strengths.

Emerging positives include significant reductions in development time and effort, alongside the ability to reuse code and integrate with external platforms. However, reviewers frequently cite complexity associated with integration as a primary concern, impacting time-to-market. Other areas for improvement include limitations in dynamic form presentation for workflow automation, insufficient documentation, and concerns regarding implementation costs. Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use SAP Build to set up Automations mostly, but we use them mostly internal and as PoCs. We are in the middle of getting all our consultants verified, so we plan to start using it way more excessifly. We also realize that a lot of customers have heard of Build, and are really keen on starting to use it.

Pros

  • Automating basic workflows
  • Opening development to more employees
  • Letting us think in new ways for some Use Cases

Cons

  • Connection with other BTP services
  • Easier Destination services
  • Still some LoQ bugs like timing out in big automations

Likelihood to Recommend

If colleagues come to me with use cases that arent to complex, I mostly recommend them SAP Build. Also if the budget is getting thight or the deadline is getting thight, you can easily and quickly have a basic App or flow, whuch you can then already have as a basis for the next steps in the automation

Automate financial processes to increase value and productivity of resources

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our goal is to increase the use of automation in all financial operations in order to serve the business units with better quality and productivity. Human resources can be allocated to more value-based processes. At the moment SAP Intelligent Robotic Process Automation is used to create sales orders and enter financial master data. Next steps would be, for example, the automation of archiving and entering manual accounting documents.

Pros

  • Creating a sales order
  • Handling masses

Cons

  • The connection of the agent is unstable at times

Likelihood to Recommend

In the area of financial processes, the automation can be widely used. With very complex or rarely occurring processes, the creation and testing of the workflow is more time consuming than the future benefits merit.
