We use Salesforce Spiff (and many other salesforce programs) mainly for our sales team to keep track of their commissions. Our company does not sell direct, we sell through our resellers so the way it works is our sales team will sell to those resellers and that is when they get a commission. Different devices and the deal they sell at are worth different amounts so with Salesforce Spiff, it is really easy for the sales team to see their commissions and compare to past months and see if they need to improve.
Pros
Easy to use
Updates commissions quickly
Can easily track commissions over time
Cons
A little confusing at first, but after training is better
Customer support is a little slow to respond
If it would show each rep the other reps commissions to compare
Likelihood to Recommend
Salesforce Spiff is great for our sales team to easily keep track of their commissions and it updates the numbers very quickly. It is also great because each rep can compare their sales over time and see which months are better than others. Generally, our devices sell better over summer so the reps can see how well they sold to our resellers over summer and compare to winter and try and step it up. I would say Salesforce Spiff is not good if you want to compare between reps because if one rep is logged in, that rep cannot see another reps commission to try and catch up.

While performing in the day to day functions of the job in the market, SPIFF has been crucial to our team success and knowing what areas we need to hunt in. Pin pointing focus in certain areas to help make up for under performing accounts and turning attention to them.

We used Spiff to help our teams understand how they are measured and paid on their variable compensation model within our Customer Success department. Reps can measure their monthly / quarterly / and annual progress to plan and it takes the guess work out of what their compensation might look like.
Pros
Simple UI / UX
Easy to Configure / Manage Teams and Subteams
Simple Reporting
Cons
Reports that you can export for non-Spiff users
Connectivity / Setup with SF can be complicated
Likelihood to Recommend
Well Suited
Well suited to provide clarity and a number for reps to understand and own.
Great mechanism for comp plans that have a layer of complexity (ie. customer success) where Upsells / Retention are concerned
For any organization that wants full transparency on % to plan for all reps in real time
Not sure how Spiff would work as a standalone, but I would assume that you likely need a CRM to fully take advantage of the software
Track my commission. We sell commercial HVAC/R equipment. Due to supply line interruptions, it is difficult to keep up with your daily/weekly/monthly sales and bonus. We use this software to help manage that task. It is difficult to track your pay and work your clients at the same time.
Pros
Graphics
Date
Availability
Design
Ease of use
Cons
Needs to update numerous times throughout the day. Only updates once daily.
Need more data
Main issue is no live tracking of your sales numbers.
Likelihood to Recommend
This comes in handy on residential sales as those are generally "right now" situations vs commercial which are project-based. It is difficult to keep up with your numbers due to being pulled in 100 directions at a time. Where it does not work is in the fast sale transactions, I can do $100k in sales in a day, but the software does not update until the following morning so that afternoon, I have no real idea of how the daily sales are impacting my bonus.
Spiff provides up-to-date sales data that provides critical compensation details to our sales force. Spiff has proven to be a critical connection between HR/Payroll and our Salesforce.
Pros
Custom Dashboards
Managerial access to their respective teams and compensation
easy adaptation to changes within plans
Cons
More frequent updates

I manage 25 sales reps and constantly manager their questions regarding compensation. Spiff affords me the access I need to answer their questions and speak confidently

I use Spiff to track my commission metrics. When I first started at my company, I had time tracking how much I was going to make each commission check and it would make budgeting difficult. Once I learned how to access Spiff it was extremely easy to see what I was making each month, if I was on track and I could easily compare it to previous months which I really liked.
Pros
Very user friendly
Tracks my performance
Can track previous months commission
Cons
An extension where I could easily pull up my dashboard
Notifications to tell me when I would be receiving my commission
Learning tutorials

For our sales organization, Spiff was perfect. As per my previous response, I had no idea how to access Spiff through our Okta so I went months wondering what my commission was going to be. I was too nervous to ask my manager as well what my status was. If I knew how to access my account sooner it would have put a lot to ease.

It is used in the sales department to help sales representatives track their commissions.
Pros
Provides transparency for pay.
Gives details for customer accounts.
Cons
Seems a little clunky.
Only has sizing capability for phone.
Has a lot of jargon in details sections.
Likelihood to Recommend
It does help me know what to expect in my next paycheck and so it is very valuable for people who are paid based on commission. It wouldn’t make sense to use it for a W2 employee.
