Our company uses Paylocity for all payroll functions, including tax reporting. We save time by using the general ledger report to import to our accounting system. Our HR department uses several areas such as onboarding, recruiting & benefit integration. Our ACA and compliance are easily tracked through these functions. We run many reports and use dashboards for business analytics.
Pros
Addresses concerns in a timely manner
Up to date notices when an error may occur
Has training videos for learning
Continues providing new features and updates
Cons
Company Administrators have full access, but still need authentication on some tasks; I feel like this is unnecessary and time consuming
Likelihood to Recommend
A mid to large company would benefit from using Paylocity. The ease of use, reporting and hiring functions help save time. Not having to use paper forms saves on waste and space to store them. Having taxes filed for the company is a big help with accurate and timely reporting.

They are great to work with and user friendly for our staff but issues with Reporting capabilities could use some help. Customer support at times provides different answers but you get someone on the line to help.

Our workforce is spread across job sites in multiple states, with a mix of salaried corporate staff, hourly field technicians and project based contractors. Paylocity helps centralize everything under one roof while respecting those distinctions. The major gap it filled was with job cost alignment and compliance.
Pros
It supports a dispersed hybrid workforce like ours so well due to their top compliance features.
Handling time tracking tied to cost centers. The system lets our teams tag hours in real time from the mobile app, which then syncs directly to payroll and job costing reports
Cons
where it lags for us is around integration depth. We use a third party ATS and pm system, and while paylocity has APIs, syncing applicant data or pushing job cost reports back into our ERP hasn't been as seamless
minor issues with reporting permissions.
Likelihood to Recommend
The best use case has to be the customizable onboarding workflows. We've built templates that change based on whether someone is a field technician, CAD operator, or senior pm. Each role gets its own compliance steps, safety training and document requests.

We use Paylocity to manage timecards, time off, process payroll, onboard employees, manage performance, and maintain employee records. We use the entire onboarding module, and it helps a lot. 95% of candidates start with all of their onboarding paperwork completed! Additionally, Paylocity connects to our benefits portal, making open enrollment a breeze!
Pros
Time Management.
Document Acknowledgement.
Performance Management.
Cons
Reporting please!
My employees struggle with the password resets.
Learning module.

I have used many payroll systems, including ADP (several versions), Ultipro (now UKG), Kronos (also now UKG), Paycom, Workday, and even PIDMS (so old it had a black screen!), and I think Paylocity is the best! I have found it to be the most user-friendly, and it really makes a difference to my team.

We use Paylocity for payroll purposes, including Employee HR information and quarterly filings. Paylocity services provide peace of mind, knowing everything is done correctly and on time. Paylocity is easy to use, and their service team is very quick to respond if I need help with anything from voiding and reissuing to setting up direct deposit.
Pros
Customer Service.
Ease of Use.
Changing the website for ease of use.
Cons

General help questions could be easier to access.
Chat Feature isn't active and that would be a great tool.

Paylocity is very easy to use. Whenever there is an issue, they quickly respond and help us correct it if needed. We do not use them for timesheet management; however, we may look into that in the future as we become more of a paperless company.

We switched from another payroll provider mid year and so glad we did. Paylocity has made our payroll processing and reconciling much more efficient and saved us tons of hours. The only thing Paylocity is lacking, is their benefits portion. That’s why I rated it at nine. Our benefits specialist has had a really hard time with different modules.
Pros
Time efficiency
Reconciling

as stated in the previous question, the reason I rated them a nine, is the lack of benefits, module, and efficiency in that.
I use Paylocity for Recruiting, Onboarding, Payroll, HR, Benefits, Spending Accounts and COBRA. I use EDI feeds for our 401k and benefit vendor files. The functionality of all the products has improved in the last year to be user friendly. I wish the Compensation was included with HR and Payroll, instead of being sold separately. We pay a lot of money to not be able to use total comp statements. The new payroll function does not show approved time off, without going into each individual file (causes doubling of time off and adds more time to process). The asterisk on the old system is beneficial and showing dates is crucial.
Pros
Customer Service
Overall Payroll Processing
Onboarding
Cons
Total Comp statements availability
Benefits: HSAER contribution will not process: block 5
When pay changes occur, I access Benefits and run a fake manage benefits to updated STD & LTD. Time consuming with annual reviews.
Likelihood to Recommend
Paylocity is well suited for most businesses but may not be beneficial for smaller companies with less than twenty-five employees. Too expensive with having to add each and every component separately. Bundling package options would be smarter and increase your market share. It takes a long time to process implementations.
