We're using it for the full lifecycle of recruitment, payroll benefits, performance evaluations, learning management system, time and attendance, scheduling. I think we've brought just about everything that they had. We were paper-based and paper-driven, so this has allowed us to have a system where everything talks well. We had multiple systems and we were trying to get it to talk. Now this is one system where we have everything housed, so it has made some things more seamless for us. Again, we were paper, so we were doing performance evaluations on paper. This has allowed us to go to technology and use technology and we had some inaccuracies with our last payroll company. This has helped us to address those problems as well and get better customer service than we were receiving prior.
Pros
I think that, so if we say on the payroll side, we like how employees are able to go and check their paychecks themselves by using Betty so they're able to approve their paycheck so that we know that not only did we have the manager approving their paychecks, but now the employee has bought in and approved their paycheck so that we have less errors when it is time to process payroll. That's one thing that we enjoy and it's user friendly on the user side, so they're able to go in and change their information, change their banking information, update their address, and really do things on their own, which is helpful. And it lessens the amount of time that we as practitioners have to do the mundane task of changing someone's address or changing their deductions or anything of that nature. So that has been helpful.
Cons
We're still very new to it. Haven't explored everything with great depth, but what I will say is during the implementation process, we think that it could be laid out better with a project plan to give specific dates as to when something is supposed to be done with that dedicated person, customer care person that they have for you. And again, so because we're so new, I think that would be my biggest feedback with that.

I think it's well suited. The industry I'm in, we deal with all type of workers from your attorneys, your CEOs to your maintenance personnel, and it's a system that everybody's able to use and comprehend. Received great training. The staff came out to our property on multiple occasions to train our staff to make sure they understood exactly what was going on, how to use the system, how to ask for help within the system. So I think that this can benefit any organization at any level regardless of the type of workers you have.

So we as it for payroll obviously, and then when I started they had not used the notifications and so I started implementing the notifications to go out to employees to do different things that are happening. So if we're having flu shot day or things like that. So we'll email the team. We keep compliance and documents, all of that. So that full spectrum.
Pros
...[My account specialist] ... is the most amazing account specialist there is that I know. And so I would say setting her, being able to answer questions on a dime and just the response rate of her is absolutely phenomenal. But if you're looking at just the product, what I tell people is it's it's going to pull out what you put in. It's not psychic and so you can't assume that it knows exactly where your mind is. So it's going to do exactly what you tell it to do.
Cons
I'll tell you one of the biggest disappointments is I found out on Facebook in a group that the Equifax went out and we had never signed in, opted in. Nobody could show us where it was. That should have been an opt out or opt-in where everybody was notified. And so that was a big thing for our leadership because while it may not be a big deal and I know that Paycom is secure with data, it should still be a communicative before it happens, know that it was about to happen. So that's big.

One of the things that I think would be really cool if Paycom could get this and I get some of it, but then some of it is where we had a little bit more control from a standpoint of if there's certain things that I have to go to the account specialist to have done and that's just an extra step and then I have to make sure that it gets approved. For instance, I have not needed it, but now we needed a workers' comp unpaid earning code, I entered it, but then it has to go through an approval cycle. And so yes, we can add it but then somebody else has to approve that what we entered was correct. I get some of it and I don't know how you work it.
It's basically for all functionality of HR. We use all of your functions and modules, so payroll. We do it for general ledger information, recruitment, all of the above.
Pros
It's definitely robust and it's also user-friendly.
Cons
It would be great if I knew this at the top of my head. I discuss this with my rep all the time. I don't particularly have any right now that I can give you at the top of my head

I think it's become a little bit better acclimated for government recently. I remember looking at it a long time ago in the past that you guys didn't really accommodate hurt certain areas of government just yet. I know now it's been really good for our firefighters and our sheriff's department for clocking in and clocking out.

We use it for payroll and we use it for, it's part of our onboarding process as well. We use it for hiring and recruiting and background checks and all of that to make sure that we're taking all the proper steps that we need to take when we're onboarding new hires. And then we use it for PTO, making sure that people have enough in their bank, taking time off requests. We actually use it for PTO cash out and we use it for a lot.
Pros
So I feel like the user interface is great. I don't feel like you have to go through actual training to learn how to use it, cause I didn't. I've navigated it on my own and figured it out along the way, so I think it has a pretty straightforward user interface. I also like that the way that it stores information, like the repository because I can go in and look up people who have been gone for 10 years, still see their information within our system, and also someone who just started yesterday. And so I think the way that it would source data is great. We also use it to sign all of our company policies. and I love how we can audit that. And we also use it for our performance management process, so we do our reviews through that and everyone can go in and add comments and sign it. I just think it's pretty easy. You don't need a lot of hands-on training with anybody to learn how to use it
Cons
So one thing that I wish it had, and this is probably beyond even what it's used for, but something where you can use it to house trainings and policies. But if there was something built in where it would alert you when you need to go in and check the content of policies for updates and things like that, and it would alert the person who's in charge of it and have some type of way that you could track when the changes were made and who made them and those type of things, I think that would be great because right now we're actually looking at something like that to lend and to not have to go to another third party for would be awesome.
One thing that I wish that it had right now was AI integration. So that would be great, especially when it comes to background checks and just the screening process. If there was some way to automate that to where we don't have to go in and do it, or AI could do a portion of that through us working with the, and getting it to what we needed it to do, that would be great. But there aren't really many blockers though or anything that I would say it's not performing well for us right now.

I would say it's well suited because again, going back to how easy it is to navigate, I also think, not even just from a leader perspective, using it when you manage people, but even as an individual contributor to see your own information, your own data. I just think it's just really easy to navigate that and we don't have people who contact us often needing help with that because they just know how to do it. So I think that's really important when you have a lot of people on staff where you don't have the resources to train them, but they have access to that on their own and it's just at their fingertips. I'll also say the other thing I like is anytime I've interfaced with or not engaged with you guys' staff, support staff or anything like that, they're always extremely helpful, like great customer service.
So I primarily use it for hiring, recruiting. So I spend a lot of time in the applicant tracking system of Paycom. It allows us to run background checks and drug screens through Paycom. We were doing them through outside of Paycom, but since Paycom now offers that we do it through there. So the whole process is automated so we use it for that primarily and just to help us do the hiring stage. Each stage of it is what we use Paycom for mostly. In addition to that, we do our performance reviews, we use Paycom for that. And just to manage pretty much the entire lifecycle of the employee.
Pros
Paycom comes up with better ways to do things with automation. So for example, for the drug screens, we're manually having to do those. Paycom has an automated process now, so it's just saved so much time and hassle scheduling those. It's just been great
Cons
No, I'd say everything is good for the most part, no cons really. I'd say just so many new features. So sometimes I know we get reminders and stuff like that. But yeah, just a lot of new features, everything, it's just me more staying up to date on what Paycom has.
Likelihood to Recommend
I'd honestly say just during the onboarding process of being able to do again the drug screens, the background checks, the I-9 documents, just everything. Honestly it is very seamless and easy to onboard someone using Paycom as well as off board as well. So I think again with the entire lifecycle, Paycom has done an amazing job.
Everything from start to finish, we use a lot of the reporting functions to help other divisions and use it for performance management and pretty much everything in between.
Pros
Well, my favorite thing is the reporting and how you can customize every single thing and how you can get everything that you want out of the system, exactly how you want it.
Cons
I think the one thing that picks will bring is video interviews and their talent acquisitions that are readable one way interviews.
Likelihood to Recommend
I think it works because it's ultra user friendly.
We use Paycom in [...] HR for the HRIS system. This system seems to streamline all employees into one place. We are currently working with PayCom to do all hiring with in the Paycom system, which will streamline our HR processes even the more.
Pros
Schedules meetings for concerns/ issues fixes
quick replies either email or telephone
assistance on navigating the system efficiently
Cons
access to change logs days after that have passed, right now you can only access for the day of. Create a Change log history.
Tickers for email or date field notifications. Right now it is not pulling from proper fields.
Organizational charts, to create a hierarchy or allow for us to import or create one that matches our departments.
base pay changes only take the most recent dates and apply it to the employee, it archives the past dates which causes issues for retros.
form # 3 for employment dates, as of right now we are unable to capture all employment hire/ termination/ rehire / termination dates in this field. Also impacts transfers.
[...] reporting in Report center. [...] was set up initially with Paycom two different ways. When running reports, employee data does not always flow correctly and pulls through accurately the first time a report is ran.

Paycom is used for Talent Acquisition, Performance Reviews, Timesheets, Scheduling, and Payroll. Any minor issues that may come up are addressed quickly by our Client Representative.
Pros
Payroll & Payroll Reporting.
Talent Acquisition, posting jobs and finding candidates.
Performance Reviews with goals and competencies.
Cons
Make it a requirement that candidates ask all of the application questions before being able to apply.
Include the Supervisor's name in the Performance Review.
Allow access to view pay class set up or the earnings details, more view availability.

The payroll system is easy to use and generates great reports. It would be nice to automatically include the primary supervisor and timesheet set up when adding new employees. Customer Representatives are fantastic!
Not only is Paycom a very good product but the implementation team and support are first-rate. For employees, the ability to securely access their payroll
and employment records from anywhere is a huge benefit. For the HR staff, managing an employee's
lifecycle in one place has created an efficient and streamlined administration
process. Lastly, having the HR
components (I.e., pay rates, benefits, etc.) linked to payroll along with
integrating Paycom’s payroll data with our existing accounting system has
created a seamless single-pane-of-glass workflow that once was disjointed and
cumbersome.
Pros
Manages complex benefits configurations well.
Our implementation team was excellent! Unlike other products, Paycom does the implementation for you so you don't have to figure out how to do it at the same time your team is learning how to use it.
Staff training was done by the Paycom implementation team and was very good.
Cons
One thing we found unusual is that Paycom does not integrate with your benefits providers by default. It is an available add-on.

We are a government agency with just under 200 employees managing many programs with diverse funding sources and diverse benefits solutions. In general, if an organization needs basic payroll and benefits management most companies, including Paycom, can provide a reasonable solution. If a company's needs are complex and require high-level service and/or customizations then Paycom is a solid choice. Paycom is our agency's third Payroll/HRIS solution and the only one that has successfully met all of the challenges and unique needs of our agency. Paycom is also the only solution that met every implementation deadline. From sales through implementation and on to long-term support Paycom is simply a great product and a great team to work with.
