Pantheon; great for those who want to forget about hosting

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are currently using it host our main website. As well, we are part of the Premier Pantheon Partner so our clients may decide to use Pantheon as their hosting system with preferential prices and better support. Currently, two of our clients have migrated to pantheon. Also, we use autopilot to keep our wordpress and drupal sites updated.

Pros

autopilot flow works fine
their support is incredibly fast and helpful
For now, we have had no downtime issues

Cons

Using live environment is a a little hard because the files cannot be modified via sftp nor git
not having access via ssh is tricky for those who are not used to ftp/sftp
autopilot instance have some issues with page builder's cache such as beaver builder
it limits the use of know plugins such as updraft or wp-rocket
Configuring a new project is easy, an existing one is kind of hard

Likelihood to Recommend

It work well if you want to forget about the hosting and the infrastructure and simply focus in producing content in your wordpress/drupal site. If you want to have more control in the files, webserver, etc it will not work for you. It is a great option if you are currently using hostings such as acquia or wpengine and are looking for alternatives.

As we actively build and maintain websites for a large number of clients, we use Pantheon as a hosting option for the large majority of clients. In previous circumstances, we would be dealing with a smorgasbord of hosting platforms and server configurations, which becomes difficult to manage, difficult to replicate/resolve issues, and all-around tedious. Having everything under one roof has been instrumental to our success.

Pros

Integrated GIT / versioning
Tiered workflow for development and staging environments, for safe and rapid deployment
Consistent server configurations across projects, for easy diagnoses and speedy IT support

Cons

A little more control over features, e.g. htaccess, cron jobs, and general server configuration.
More integrated support for some niche solutions (e.g. WordPress multisite).
Allowing the ability to more easily clone or duplicate entire projects.

Likelihood to Recommend

For an agency or company that needs to manage multiple clients across multiple projects, Pantheon is a great fit and allows for easy management, configuration, and maintenance of projects under one roof. For an individual company seeking a hosting plan for a single website, there are other options that might be equally appropriate.

Pantheon is one of the best software I've used in my life. They made things very easy from the user's perspective as they have backup & branch creation and merging of code and migration of files is very easy. They provide a multi-dev work environment to main the code and website smoothly.

Easy Global system for effective on our different Cloud data and content building and even the excellent functions on multiple files and images editing and the best publication solution with great usability experience. Pantheon comes with a full set of capable functions and is easy to manipulate after the first initial Pantheon training. Its ability for multiple project life cycle management options is quite excellent and profitable.

Pantheon data transfer tools are powerful and easy to use.
Editing functions are the best.
Easy content creation and Authoring capability is nice.

Cons

Pantheon technical help on its starting deployment they are not that active.
Creation of multiple marketing contents may be tricky to new users.
Cloud functionalities adaptation is very technical.

The powerful tools and configuration of Pantheon's advanced capabilities are excellent and it's very reliable on project data quality management and team communication is excellent. Reports sharing and analytics of different complex data Pantheon has effective capabilities and access control tools are excellent and even the digital assets management I highly recommend Pantheon services.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

This easy platform for project coordination offers the easiest features which can be customized to meet a variety of project requirements and the starting is easy from implementation to the Pantheon interface configuration. The tools are easy to navigate and the quality of easy content building and its development life cycle management functionalities are excellent. Pantheon allows the effective data analytics and easy to report and the documentation ability on the product is nice.

Cons

Not easy to manage multiple project equipment.
Project assets allocation is not easy to the new people.
The Cloud deployment on the first time.

Great Cloud-based coordination platform which offers the team excellent capabilities on easy workflow management, multiple project activity tracking and easy to monitor all the project assets from one desk. Pantheon offers the best content management tools, strategic on development project life cycle management is excellent and the reporting features with Pantheon are effective and useful real-time data analytical capability.

Pantheon helps my team to create and manage content on all our websites. The platform is very powerful in hosting all web platforms that manage our business applications. It monitors the workflow across the entire company and identifies challenges affecting the implementation of projects and tasks. It gives our marketing team an opportunity to publish any digital content on our platforms during marketing campaigns.

Pantheon is particularly used in our department. We depend on it when building our websites. It has great features that support our agendas. We have customized most of our operation interface to ease service delivery. Pantheon has a strong command line that enables our Workforce team to work as a team to achieve our set goals. Great customer support has helped us build strong application programs.

I totally recommend this product due to its strong working base. Our team has been able to develop most applications that, once they are ready, offer great support to our company. Launching new websites has been very easy with minimum cost. Data security is paramount, with Pantheon giving strong firewalls that cannot be interfered with by third parties.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We develop enterprise level websites on Drupal 8 for multiple companies with Pantheon. We also use Pantheon to host a large number of small campaign sites, also on Drupal 8. It provides us with a convenient portal to administrate a large number of sites. It allows us to transfer ownership over to a customer after delivery. It also has a CLI interface to greatly help with creation/deployment and continuous integration.

Pros

Their CLI product Terminus.
Ease of creating projects and multiple branch/dev environments within.

Cons

Better generic support/documentation on CI platforms other than the Pantheon preferred platform.
More resources on instances. Module updates can fail on install/update due to the server running out of memory. Only options are to upgrade services, or build the core site external to Pantheon and then import back into the Pantheon environment. The latter part is a detriment to customers/users that are not more savvy than installing modules through the GUI.

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited for continuous integration and maintaining a large number of websites.

Less useful for single off sites that are used by less technical users.
