Optimizely Content Management System is our CMS host to our website and we use it to everything related to web content. It's a good system, but it's not much intuitive and do not have a good user experience usability.
Pros
Block contents
Drag and drop
Cons
User experience
Uploading images

It's not the worst system ever, but leaves something to be desired in terms of usability, user experience and a more creative structure.
We implemented Optimizely Content Management System over two years ago to host all content for philanthropies [...] to facilitate fundraising efforts for six brands that we represent. We now have a dependable cloud solution that has allowed our small team to easily add new content, and make changes to the layout and functionality in a timely fashion.
Pros
Easily add reusable content with blocks so there is one place to make changes that are applied wherever that content block exists.
The digital asset library makes it easy to store files (images and pdf's) and make updates to those files that are applied everywhere.
Real-time live preview and then can publish changes instantly or schedule when content is published.
Webpages are desktop or mobile friendly without having to make custom pages or layouts.
The additional tools we find helpful are the link validation, global find and replace, and the ability to define personas.
Cons
The image editor needs better functionality and options for automated image sizing choices.

We like the options to create user permissions for different roles/responsibilities and to have workflows for different teams within the organization to have varying levels of access to pages as well as their ability to edit or publish content. With different fundraising campaigns, we like the ability to create/design elements of a page and then schedule when they will be published without having to worry about the the time of day it needs done.
I use Optimizely Content Management System on daily basis for our content. One of a business problems the product addresses is how we personalized the content for our members whether they are young soldier, retired officers. Every content we have need to target certain group of members. We just launched a new event website on CMS
Pros
Content personalization
Data tracking
Pages, block, particularly componentization
Content recommendation
Cons
easier to use secondary database along with the main database
redirecting/URL manager. This is very useful when it comes to broken links detection
better connecting between Idio and CMS
Likelihood to Recommend
Well suited scenarios when companies need to personalized their content/product less suited scenarios when organizations use website like application such as school

Our company is in the middle of adoption. I think this is a great product but there is a lot of ambiguity of what features are out of the box versus need to purchase,

I think Optimizely Content Management System is well suited for e-commerce.
We use the Optimizely Content Management System to manage content for our external facing website and application member portal application.
Pros
One thing that we have started doing that I think does well is the personalization of content based on visitor groups. The previous product we had did nothing like that. It was a very static-only type of content management system. So we've had good success with that aspect of it.
Cons
We also have the Optimizely Data Platform and I do not find that to be very user-friendly. I cannot figure out how to use it properly and we haven't had access to good training on how to use it.

I would recommend it. I don't have any drawbacks that I've had with it at all. I can't update my website without it.
