Overall OTMM is a great Enterprise DAM that exceeds our needs.
Pros
- Manage Security permission/ access (it is complex, but flexible)
- We have several million images in the system and it is still just as responsive
- Multiply was to organize the assets, with folders, collections, relationships, groups
- Metadata creation and management is great, we have over 30-50 metadata fields and it helps us find our assets faster.
Cons
- direct integration with other systems. Not sure it will ever happen native as it would be with competitors, but would be nice
- the download and export is clunky and need works
- the ability to quickly look at thousands of images quickly for review is not possible
Return on Investment
- We have moved from a team that can only respond to requests and try and keep up, to one that is planning and managing the collection, instead of letting the collection manage us
- We can ensure for Legal, that any image that is used in a design we have full right and permission to use, as everything is managed with in OTMM
- We can now understand what and how people are searching our collection and we can add to or fix metadata to make the system more responsive.
