Use Cases and Deployment Scope
NucleoLIS was purchased and implemented to allow our clinical lab to track specimens and report specimen results to our clinical clients. We used this for clinically validated tests in cytogenetics, FISH, molecular diagnostics and virology. The software allowed us to track specimens through the process from receiving to reporting. It also provided an excellent internal querying and reporting module that gave us the ability to generate the reports necessary to report the quality control metrics we had set for the lab.
Pros
- Customer service is exceptional.
- Software is designed to be flexible to support various types of testing.
- The learning curve to become proficient in developing and using the software is very quick.
- The ability to extract data stored in the system doesn't require an extensive IT background.
Cons
- Software as flexible as NucleoLIS does require time to implement.
- I would like to see more out-of-the-box solutions for specimen workflows specific for the testing being offered.
- There isn't a billing option but it does allow data to be exported to be used by third-party billing software.
Likelihood to Recommend
NucleoLIS has the flexibility to build workflows for any type of clinical test. I experienced all of the positives that Psyche systems and NucleoLIS had to offer when I was tasked with building a workflow for COVID-19 testing. We were able to establish a LIMS workflow for COVID-19 testing in a matter of weeks in order to ramp up our testing to serve our community when we were one of the only testing sites available.
