We use Nintex Forms and Workflows in our on-premise SharePoint environment. It has helped unlock additional capabilities that the out-of-the-box workflow features in SharePoint simply does not have. It helps with our approval process, allows us to create complex workflows, allows us to create user-friendly forms, and the entire company can benefit from these enhancements. The user-friendly and visual nature of the workflow and form designers allows even users with minimal SharePoint knowledge the ability to create complex workflows to meet their needs.
Pros
LazyApproval emails in workflows allow users the ability to approve actions via email.
Unlocks additional workflow features that are severely lacking or missing in the OOTB version SharePoint.
Workflow Designer is very good at giving users a visual representation of their workflows. It is very user-friendly.
Customer service is very good. The turnaround time is fast and they are knowledgeable and offer detailed solutions.
Cons
Software updates are sometimes problematic. Their updater does not work well in our environment and therefore we need to manually remove everything and re-install.
Updates to their software seems to occur quarterly therefore your SharePoint server updates become outdated while you wait for Nintex to update their software to work with the latest CUs from Microsoft.
Likelihood to Recommend
Nintex has been great in an on-premise SharePoint environment. We assume it would be equally as good in the cloud. Nintex has been crutial to our business as users are able to approve workflows on their mobile devices through LazyApprovals without needing to access SharePoint on their phone or go to a computer. The user-friendly and visual nature of the workflow and form designers allows even users with minimal SharePoint knowledge the ability to create complex workflows and design custom forms to meet their needs.

We use it to automate mundane and repetitive processes. This is company-wide and we find it so easy to use too.

Allows you to build in situ and adapt easily as things change
Cons

Risk register tracker, including alerting
Automatic movement of documents to archive libraries
Procurement process

It seems to be appropriate for everything we've looked at so far and we've none that we can think of where it is less appropriate. It's definitely my first choice when looking to automate a process due to its ease of use and configuration.
We use it to optimize the processes that need to be handled by many departments, so the Nintex Process Platform allowed us to be faster on our work, reduce/eliminate all paper and the need to constantly communicate with each department and make sure everything is okay and went smoothly was reduced, and I could actually say it is now null. My job is to create the workflows and maintain them; make the needed updates the company/ employees require so somehow keep growing on a better path. Even though I'm an intern at the company, this is the platform I have learned the best, and I now have full control of it inside the company, and that fulfills me since I see I am able to help my colleagues and learn new things at the same time.
Pros
Optimizing processes
Reducing paper
Better communication between departments
Easy use of the platform
Visually attractive
Cons
State machines sometimes saturate
More capacity
Create a cloud to store information
Likelihood to Recommend
It is best suited for large companies when processes have to be managed by lots and different departments; I don't really think it will be that much useful for a process where it's a one-to-one person. It is also useful when people are working at home or in different countries, no matter how big or small; it always will make things easier and faster in my opinion.
The Nintex Platform is being used for forms, workflows, and apps. It is being used by several departments across the organization. It has helped us automate business processes and helped users be productive while out of the office. It is easy and user-friendly to create forms that can be available on desktops and mobile devices.
Pros
Workflows for Office 365
Mobile Forms on IOS and Android devices
Cons
The app authentication can be handled better. Users are not prompted that they need to update their passwords in the app.
Likelihood to Recommend
Nintex Platform is great for creating workflows in Microsoft Office 365 and building forms. The Nintex mobile app needs more refinement.

Skuid is currently being used in our sales department across 25+ users. We use it to manage our sales pipeline and to create visualizations with our data.
Pros
Pulling data from external sources.
Providing visualizations that tell a story & summarize.
Integrations with other applications, i.e. Sharepoint for document library storage.
Amazing support! Very quick to respond and also wonderful to work with when scoping out your needs.
Cons
Working through a few bugs here and there.
Integration and support with Power BI would be a great feature.
Too much data overwhelms the system if pulling from SQL data warehouse.
Likelihood to Recommend
Skuid is great while it sits on top of a CRM platform, for us Microsoft Dynamics. We like the look and feel of Skuid rather than Dynamics. We were able to successfully pull data from our SQL warehouse and connect it specifically at the account level which has been amazing when wanting to look at revenue detail by account. The visualizations are great and the potential for how to analyze data is exciting.
Nintex Platform has been used in our company to support our HR department: notifying managers about recruiting progress. We also needed Nintex Platform to communicate with our MS SQL server databases to use queries within Nintex Platform. This is not simply possible in Sharepoint Workflows. The workflow was designed by our IT department and used by HR.
Pros
Notifying managers
Checking status of particular employee in other SQL databases
Cons
I was happy with all features that Nintex provided to us.
Likelihood to Recommend
We were happy with Nintex platform but we recently developed an in-house solution instead. This decision was made because it is much cheaper than paying an annual license cost for one workflow. Our workflow was easy to redesign to do the same work as Nintex Platform. I can imagine that Nintex can be used by non-IT people within an organisation, however this was not our case.

We are currently working on several K2 applications. One is a SharePoint site provisioning tool that users can go to, to request a new SharePoint site. Based on how they answer questions, a site will be created in either SharePoint Online or On-Prem. We are also working on several K2 applications for our PMO, and Security Teams to help them redefine their business processes.
Pros
K2 manages workflow automation very well.
K2 provides very good scalability when building out a new business process.
K2 has the ability to build stand-alone apps and not be dependent solely on a SharePoint infrastructure.
Cons
Better documentation for on-prem installation.
There is no longer a forms designer in 5.0 and the current forms designer built into the UI is years behind where the old forms designer was. So many missing features.
0 is not as user-friendly as 4.7.
Likelihood to Recommend
K2 does what K2 does. It is great at forms and workflow automation. The ability to customize on the go is a strong point as well. When we build a form or process, we can make changes on the fly in the event that a launch is less than expected. We can tweak as needed. Very scalable. For some of our business customers that need things fast, K2 is perfect for that. Creating custom applications from scratch will still take probably twice as long.
