Netskope CASB in our organization caters to Govern, Secure data and protection against threats. Use case which we cater and helps organization wide is Govern O365 access and other cloud services. Upload/Download of documents are seamless and end users work is not hindered. Conditional activity is also one of the best feature, where outside organization/domain access needs to be approved. CRA report is also fantastic to capture anomalies regards to number of hits/uploads/download, etc.

Pros

  • Monitor or control user activities irrespective accessing via mobile or desktop app
  • User login anomalies
  • Block or limit access for creating cloud instances like Buckets, Clusters, etc
  • Prevent uploading any data to Cloud storage service

Cons

  • Fine tuning of Web Categories
  • UPN and Email attributes mapping should be further simplified as deployment progresses
  • Email DLP is at nascent stage, can be further strengthened and matured.

Likelihood to Recommend

Netskope CASB scenario is well suited in organization for monitoring/governing access of O365. We being security company, there is lot of customer data we deal with and Netskope CASB in place we really feel secured and safe.
Upload/Download of data even on Whatsapp web is monitored/blocked depending on the use case.
User/Group wise policy creation is also one smoothest and efficient way of deployment Netskope CASB, reduced lot of manual intervention.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used this for shadow IT and for basic DLP functions. We were one of the very first customers of Netskope, the trajectory of the product is excellent. It was a great control for managing and monitoring all SaaS usage with the organization.

Pros

  • Monitor SaaS usage.
  • Manage gaps in shadow IT.
  • Provide basic DLP functionality for SaaS usage.

Cons

  • Some improvements in reporting.
  • Make some integrations easier.
  • Pricing.

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited for an organization that is either architecting their environment for majority SaaS usage, or presently is a cloud-first organization and wants greater insight into their existing cloud placements. It does provide good first-level DLP and will need to be supplemented with a purpose drive DLP control.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have decided that all traffic on the user end will be going over Netskope. The idea is great and it works perfectly, it gives you protection for end-users when you need them, the only catch is that your users end up with Netskope IP public address, and many times it is hard to troubleshoot this.

Pros

  • Monitoring all traffic
  • Protecting your end user traffic

Cons

  • Public IP for user can be from different country then it came from
  • Sometimes you can't get anywhere with Netscope ON
  • Location is the key for speed so users complain for speed of 'internet'
  • Some location blocks Netscope IP ranges

Likelihood to Recommend

For general protection of users, it is a great software protecting end-user traffic, the bigger company and amount of users you protect the issues get to recognize and speed usually is the main issue as sites load slowly or not at all so users have to turn off their protection to be able to reach any resource.

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We utilize Netskope CASB to monitor and restrict shadow-IT in our environment through policy rules. We also use Netskope CASB to enforce controls on SaaS applications, scanning for malware and preventing unwanted actions related to data exfiltration. In addition to the items above, we also utilize Netskope to log and filter HTTP activity at the endpoint.

Pros

  • Extensive controls for various SaaS applications.
  • Easy to deploy and manage.
  • Highly customizable policies.

Cons

  • Initial configuration requires strong knowledge of the product in order to avoid misconfigurations.
  • Challenging to troubleshoot network related issues.
  • Some integrations are released with limited functionality, making them difficult to implement.

Likelihood to Recommend

The Netskope CASB solution is well-suited for any company due to the proliferation of SaaS applications. With the agent being installed on endpoints, the product is well suited for remote work environments where a managed corporate network may not be available. The agent allows visibility and controls to be applied to any networks the devices connect to.
