TripActions is used to research and purchase flights and hotel rooms for our business (and sometimes personal) travel. The platform is used primarily by the company's domestic, international, and government sales departments, as well as company management. The business problems TripActions addresses are the need to canvas multiple travel and hotel sites, as well as needing a dedicated travel coordinator to manage all travel needs for company employees.
Pros
Competitive hotel rates
Competitive airline rates
Consideration of personal travel
Cons
Merging personal and business travel under a single "trip"
Service fee for personal travel seems ill advised when the platform benefits from business travel
There was at least one occasion when quoted rate could not be booked as it was no longer available.

A specific scenario where TripActions was well suited was when I needed to book a hotel stay in Cologne, Germany for multiple colleagues. The fact that they were registered users made coordinating their stays a seamless process. I have not had an occasion where TripActions was inappropriate to use.
TripActions is currently used throughout my entire organization for any travel needs. It is extremely convenient and allows the complete management of employee travel while allowing them autonomy to make their own travel decisions and business needs demand. It makes filing expense reports very easy as well and minimizes the time spent filing them. There is even a feature that entices employees to book lower-priced hotels by rewarding them with a percentage of their savings under the allocated per diem.
Pros
Fast and easy to send expenses to Expensify.
Allows me to see when and where my coworkers have booked.
Cons
They have really improved their customer service response.
They have already improved their integrations.
Likelihood to Recommend
I think it is well suited for any business with remote employees who travel for work.
We use TripActions to book flights and hotels company wide. It is great because, as someone who uses it often, I can see what I booked in the past, see what my coworkers have booked and share bookings with coworkers if needed. It helps in knowing when and where we need to be!
Pros
The customer service team is second to none! They are constantly helping me change flights or communicating with a hotel for me. They go above and beyond.
Another point just to brag on their CST department - I had a personal flight booked 2 years ago for my husband and I. I filled out some information wrong. Fast forward to us checking in and there were issues. The airline was going to charge us for an additional ticket for over $800! The CST member for TA called the airline company, did some sweet talking and figured it out for me. I was so happy I almost cried!
Cons
I can't think of anything wrong with this app!
Likelihood to Recommend
TripActions is the way to go for booking hotels and flights! If you are looking for something luxurious for a personal getaway, I would use something else. But for anything business-related, there's nothing better. It is also well suited for sharing itinerary and bookings with coworkers.
TripActions is used across our entire organization. In the past, we had a travel agency that helped book and manages travel for our company. Still, since moving to TripActions, it's empowered employees to handle and manage their own business travel with an easy-to-use platform. However, it also gives our admins the option to book trips for senior leadership.
Pros
Straightforward, user-friendly interface
Compiles all airline options for best selection
Cons
Make invoice/expense options more streamlined.
Improve the ability to book the same trip as colleagues.
Likelihood to Recommend
TripActions is great for most things! Last minute work trips or planning things out in advance. Might be less appropriate for large grounds of employees taking the same trip. The ability to book hotel, airfare, rental car etc. is really vital.
All of our company travel is booked using TripActions, whether we need to book a last-second flight or hotel room, we resort to TripActions.
Pros
Flight updates - App changes in real-time.
Great rates on flights and hotel rooms.
Cons
I have not come across any feature gaps during my 2 years of use.
Likelihood to Recommend
I was with roughly 15 co-workers coming back from a conference in SF and our flight kept getting delays and then all of a sudden the flight changed gates. The TripAction app sent us a push notification with the new departure time/gate before the airport screen even updated.

At my previous company, we used TripActions to book and stay organized with travel. Whenever I had to change my flight, I spoke to their customer service team. Anyone that travels for the company uses TripActions by downloading the app and having all travel plans show up in an organized fashion. Once I found out I was getting Amazon cash, for merely traveling for work, I was genuinely hooked.
Pros
customer service
travel organization
Cons
I genuinely have no complaints of my time working with TripActions.

If you travel for work, TripActions is a must. Before, we used Concur Travel and Expense, and my travel plans were not all in one place (I had to search for the itinerary in my company email) It took a while to get a hold of anyone at Concur. In contrast, with TripActions, they have a customer service team that you can text within the app, and they are super attentive.
We use TripActions company-wide to book any work travel or trade show/conferences. It reduces stress off our events team by allowing everyone to coordinate their own flights with their preferred times. We have a lot of employees nationwide, so TripActions also reduces any errors of departure cities.
Pros
Individual Booking
Team Activity Booking
Cons
$20 fee seems steep
Likelihood to Recommend
When coordinating travel for more than two employees

TripActions is being used as our single travel booking platform as of May 29, 2019, across the entire organization. It solves multiple business problems:
Various travel data sources making it impossible to analyze
Unintuitive UI/UX for a company-mandated booking platform
Policy enforcement
Employee engagement
Traveler support
Pros
Customer support: Incredibly quick response time, human interaction, smart people.
Massive inventory: Minimizes our own employees telling us some other site is cheaper.
Cons
Global Pricing: Since TripActions has the role of an inventory aggregator, they have to tackle inventory one distributor at a time. If CTrip or MakeMyTrip has better inventory, it won't flow through to TripActions until a deal with them is made.
Controls: TripActions is very open in the way it enforces policy - meaning it isn't for every company. If a customer wants more heavy-handed controls, they'll have to go with a competitor.
Likelihood to Recommend
If you want a platform that requires approvals before booking, TripActions isn't for you. If you operate heavily in China or India, TripActions won't have the domestic inventory you need.
For everyone else, I'd recommend TripActions.

TripActions is our enterprise wide booking system for travel. It's great! Rewards you for saving the company money and helps keep track of expenses and receipts. We've been using it for 2+ years and many of the power travelers have been able to personally pocket some decent money as we also save the company money.
Pros
Responsive - Customer Support is A+
Easy to use - Super UX/UI - love it
Cons
More airline partners
Likelihood to Recommend
TripActions is ideal for companies who want to cut down on travel expenses while not cutting down on actual travel. The incentive system aligns company goals of spend with personal goals of making money.
