Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Mozilla Firefox is an ideal browser for an organization like mine that works in many different sectors (education, healthcare, community services, and research.) Because it has a great capacity for customization, Mozilla Firefox allows me to change the platform to suit my specific business needs across different sectors and contexts. Plugins are easy to add and offer value in many different settings.

Pros

  • User experience and ease of use
  • Password saving
  • Data security

Cons

  • Unexpected crashes or errors slightly too often
  • Download function is not always intuitive (too many places to click)
  • Updates too frequent

Return on Investment

  • Improved efficiency
  • Ease of document sharing
  • Flexibility on necessary plugins, supporting complex tasks

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have been using Mozilla Firefox personally and professionally for almost 20 years. As an IT professional, I regularly use all three major browsers but Firefox has always been easy to use and easy to control. The other browsers were much harder to make do what you wanted, how you wanted. Today, the other browsers are falling in line but Firefox is still the most comfortable to use.

Pros

  • Access to downloads
  • Control of bookmarks
  • Keeping useful controls easily accessible

Cons

  • Managing Extensions

Return on Investment

  • ROI is good because it is free.
  • Any user can learn/use it quickly

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I used it in a prior iteration, both at work and on my home computer. At this time my current employer doesn't use Mozilla Firefox as our default browser.

One of the things I like about Mozilla Firefox is its ease of use. The interface is very intuitive, and easy to manage my favorites and saved history with.

Pros

  • User Interface
  • Ease of Use
  • Good data management

Cons

  • I found the browser was unstable sometimes.
  • Loss of bookmarks if there is an upgrade to my operating system.

Return on Investment

  • Not aware of impacts to my prior company.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Firefox as my secondary browser. My primary browser is reserved for intranet access, while Firefox serves as a technical browser thanks to its highly configurable behavior. I use it with TamperMonkey to run local scripts, and FoxyProxy to access secured business appliances that require specific routing. This setup allows for a clear separation between human browsing and technical tasks.

Pros

  • Debugging tools.
  • Customizability.
  • Privacy and Tracking Protection.

Cons

  • Extension Compatibility.
  • First start information.

Return on Investment

  • Firefox enhances efficiency in technical workflows with tools like TamperMonkey and FoxyProxy.
  • It supports strong task separation and privacy.
  • Occasional compatibility issues with enterprise apps and minor setup overhead for new users.

Used every day, all day for business purposes. Web searches, bookmarks, etc. It's fast, reliable, and cuts through a lot of the spam ads I get with other browsers. I love the extensions and have never had any major issues. It feels safe and secure, gives me nice peace of mind as I am using it for work. Will be a user for life!

  • Ad blocking
