Business Problems Solved
Mirakl is a versatile platform that offers a range of use cases for users seeking to expand their catalog and reach new customers. By connecting with vendors selling complimentary products, users are able to diversify their offerings and increase their profit margins. This has been particularly beneficial for consumer electronics customers, as Mirakl enables them to access additional marketplaces like BestBuy.
One key use case of Mirakl is its ability to help users spread their sales channels by onboarding new sellers while maintaining control over inventory, order management, and customer service. This allows businesses to leverage the expertise and products of third-party sellers without sacrificing control or quality. By using the Mirakl Marketplace platform, businesses can easily onboard, activate, manage, and support sellers while defining marketplace business rules.
Another use case for Mirakl is its role as a middleware that transforms a commerce platform into a 3PL/Marketplace model. This extension enhances the core commerce functionalities by accepting third-party sellers and expanding the range of products offered on a tech retail website. Additionally, Mirakl offers an SAP Commerce extension that provides additional 3PL features, further enhancing the capabilities of the platform.
Overall, Mirakl provides users with the flexibility to connect with vendors, expand their catalogs, and increase their profitability by accessing additional marketplaces and onboarding new sellers. With its comprehensive platform and integrated features, Mirakl offers a valuable solution for businesses looking to grow their online presence and optimize their sales channels.
I saw a review that was evaluating Mirakl vs. SAP Commerce. To my surprise, folks were actually comparing the two. It is comparing apples to oranges truly. SAP Commerce is a commerce engine with core commerce functionalities like UI, cart, checkout, quoting, PSP integration, etc. while Mirakl is simply a MIDDLEWARE to transform a commerce platform into a 3PL/Marketplace model. Mirakl is NOT a commerce platform. It is a platform that allows sellers to manage their products, offers, and then their orders (when these are placed by the customer and accepted by the seller). SAP Commerce is a beast. Mirakl merely extends it with a few additional 3PL features. Their SAP Commerce extension is pretty slick!

Cons
Their management to start with (not kidding!)
Cost of Mirakl can be dramatic
Likelihood to Recommend
It is scalable, if the cost is not an issue it is a good solution.
Mirakl is used across the organization both to expand a website into a Marketplace platform and to manage products and its sales parameters. It helped to widen the range of offered products on a tech retail website by accepting 3rd party sellers. It is the day-to-day software for managing offers, orders and products.
Pros
API documentation well done.
Simple export/import of file.
Main dashboard to get a simple glimpse of the current activity.
Cons
Lack of tailoring for the dashboard.
More options for promotions.

If you have a successful webstore with high traffic it could make sense to think about in expanding the business to other vendors by creating a marketplace (just like amazon). You'll charge a commission on the products sold in your website by other vendors, and that way you'll have a wide range of products to offer to your users. To do this, Mirakl is the software to use.
We use Mirakl Marketplace platform as Seller platform of ePRICE Marketplace which is the major Italian marketplace onboarding Italian and European sellers. The platform provides the sellers with a back office to manage their products, offers, orders, customer care vs customers. As an operator, the Marketplace team uses Mirakl Marketplace to onboard, activate, manage, support sellers and define marketplace business rules.
Pros
Good API integration, easy to integrate
Almost complete seller platform providing all the basic features of a Marketplace and a few advanced ones
Good level of support of the team
Good level of product upgrades
Cons
Seller performance tools
Order flow
Payments management in a PSD2 compliant envronment
Likelihood to Recommend
Management of offers and orders is working well and easy to integrate via API. Seller performance difficult to monitor and to manage with automatic rules.
