Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use MindManager on a daily basis to assist me in my tasks as a school manager, particularly in project management and steering my school. Sorry for my bad English; I usually speak French.

Pros

  • General presentation of a project.
  • Easy to use.
  • Inserts and link.
  • Publish a map online (that's very a great think).
  • Templates are useful.
  • Kanban mode.

Cons

  • Click on a topic in a complex map, and it is displayed, for example, in a new tab (readability in the work and more useful with small screens (laptops).
  • Management by folder of the projects: create a map, insert documents, images, and videos, and everything is found in the same folder (with subfolders images, documents, and videos..). One folder for one map. It is easier to save and export.
  • A bit like the Scribus software.

Likelihood to Recommend

General presentation of projects and their monitoring: My school's management is based on a MindManager map (with documents, video clips, links, etc.), which evolves over time. As it is published online, each member of staff can, therefore, follow the progress throughout the year. I also use it often to take notes in meetings and live displays.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use MindManager for gathering information, project planning, and regular tasks. I find it useful and flexible, and the regular opportunity to join online tutorials helps me stay up to date, use enhancements, and learn how to do new things.

Pros

  • Allow me to create templates for regular tasks.
  • Allow me to collect and categorise information in a way that makes sense for me.
  • Allow me to create project plans to plan and monitor progress with all my key projects.

Cons

  • I would like the export of content to Word to be easier.
  • To make a wider range of free icons available to help me enhance my maps.

Likelihood to Recommend

I have enjoyed gaining experience and learning to use MindManager for more tasks. I can incorporate information from my reading and research to create new ways to do things and to do things more effectively and efficiently. I use other products, such as Trello, for planning days and weeks, but one of the main tools for my deep work is MindManager.

Business Focused Tools to Support Everyone.

Rating: 5 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is used to support the business's planning, progress, tasks, and projects. It allows users to see their work in a visual manner and link the overall plan to other programs that they use, such as the flag and task functions in Outlook and work documents.

Pros

  • Links to outlook and other MS products.
  • Multiple different ways of visualising information.
  • The search function is very useful when dealing with large plans.

Cons

  • Importing information from Excel/word is complex and time consuming.
  • The teams add in should not cost extra.
  • The share function for others without a licence is slow and frustrating.

Likelihood to Recommend

Suppose people are already used to planning and different ways of breaking down or organizing information. If they will use it entirely independently or when the tool is used team/company-wide. When the company uses MS products rather than other web-based tools, It is not so good when workers do not understand planning processes and are not confident with new software programs. Using the program with clients who do not have the program is difficult - the webshare app is very slow, and my clients have struggled to log on or access the plans. I have stopped using it because I cannot rely on the program. Your company has not bought the upgrade where you work on teams.
