Microsoft Security Copilot Reviews & Insights

We are an E5 customer and utilize multiple products within the Microsoft security suite (Sentinel for SIEM, Defender for Endpoint, Purview, Entra Identity Governance, Defender for Identity, etc...). Microsoft Security Copilot is extremely useful by allowing our Security Operations team to use natural language prompts to get data on activity within our environments. This is performed both proactively and during incident response. The ability to return results from various sources saves analysts time and generates efficiencies for our Security team.

If my peers or colleagues are working within a Microsoft environment and have deployed Microsoft security tooling, then Microsoft Security Copilot is a logical next step and something I would recommend. If they primarily use third-party apps or are not heavily using Microsoft products, then I would recommend they explore other solutions and compare which works best for their customized tech stack.

Microsoft Copilot is incredibly helpful in creating powershell scripts and other automation tasks. Copilot can quickly put together automations that can then be fine-tuned by users in a fraction of the time it takes to create a full script or automation from scratch. Copilot has enabled us to better automate tasks with our current workforce.

Security Copilot is well-suited for dedicated security teams and organizations that can afford the product. Quicker responses, insights, mitigation, and remediation can all be achieved more efficiently and effectively with the help of Copilot. Security Copilot is less suited for small teams, which is better suited for a dedicated MDR.
