any scenario where the person understand enough about the question and the expected answer from Microsoft Security Copilot , otherwise using it could be misleading as the person wouldn't know if the generated answer matches reality or it didn't.

incident response and coding is a good example , running code generated by Microsoft Security Copilot directly on prod can be very harmless on the other hand.

Microsoft Security Copilot is extremely useful by allowing our Security Operations team to use natural language prompts to get data on activity within our environments. This is performed both proactively and during incident response. The ability to return results from various sources saves analysts time and generates efficiencies for our Security team.

If my peers or colleagues are working within a Microsoft environment and have deployed Microsoft security tooling, then Microsoft Security Copilot is a logical next step and something I would recommend. If they primarily use third-party apps or are not heavily using Microsoft products, then I would recommend they explore other solutions and compare which works best for their customized tech stack.

It can be very costly and in most small business scenarios is probably not worth the investment. It is a tool to complement already good security practices not one to replace them, in this way I would say it is not necessary for most cases.

We use it on our servers to increase performance and monitor resource use. It automates a lot of the tasks we need for watching the metrics of the servers and saves us time from figuring out issues. Its really easy to use with windows servers and can be setup quickly.

Its great for watching windows servers in your lab and production environment to make sure they are performing at there best and secure. Its also great to run on end points running windows to monitor for issues. I would recommend it be run on as many windows running servers and workstations as you can.

You should use Microsoft Security Copilot as a starting point for creating various scripts. However, don't spend too much time troubleshooting mistakes without looking up syntax yourself to make things quicker. Microsoft Security Copilot is very good with helping with Excel functions. It may offer an option that you never thought of using.
