Microsoft Powerpoint

I use Microsoft Powerpoint to design executive presentations for C-level professionals. This product helps me tell stories based on data, to drive better business decisions. The shortcuts and customizations allow me to be extremely efficient in terms of time. Embedded tools like links to Microsoft excel as well as add-ins for data visualization are extremely helpful in my scope. I also enjoy the online syncing of files, so that I never lose my data and others can collaborate with me at the same time.

• Microsoft Powerpoint has allowed around 10 people to work simultaneously on an urgent presentation, reducing around 3 days production time to 1 day.

Google Slides and Canva

I use it on a Daily Basis to create slides, explain and document topics. Use it as a presentation tool but also as documentation tool. We use it for almost everything in the entire organization. It solves our problems of visualization of business decisions, presentations, basis for everything. The scope is from easy picture editing to creative logo creation.

Microsoft 365 Copilot

I'm in Advancement for education and much of my job includes writing specific, customized proposals for prospective donors to the organization. Often, the gift officers I'm working with don't have experience with Adobe, so I needed a solution to be able to design a document, lock certain elements, but leave some accessible so that a regular person would be able to edit as needed on the road. It's an unconventional use for Powerpoint, but it's also exactly what I needed. Of course, I also use it for presentations both professionally and personally.

• Increased engagement. Powerpoint allows us to create a standard template for donor proposals but change any elements for the specific donor so that they feel they're getting a totally custom product every time they interact with us.
• Staying on brand. My coworkers struggle to adhere to brand standards to the extent that we in the marketing department would prefer. Powerpoint allows us to lock certain elements in a presentation, share a prepared theme, etc.
• Because I tend to use Powerpoint outside of its intended purpose, it lacks some features that would make it more convenient for me, like the ability to export with marks and bleeds, etc. Projects can take longer because of this.

Miro, Adobe InDesign

I use Microsoft Powerpoint for sooooo many things. Not only do I use it to make presentations, but I also use it to make newsletters (so much less annoying formatting than in Microsoft Word), movie posters for upcoming safety training, flyers, brochures, and so much more.

I have been using Microsoft Powerpoint for the last 28 years. Some of the improvements have actually helped speed up the time it takes me to design a presentation. Plus, they have so many free templates inside Microsoft Powerpoint. The "Designer tab" is a must, no matter if you are new to graphic design or if you have been doing it for years!

You can change the orientation (portrait to landscape) with a click of a button.

Another really cool feature is that Microsoft has FINALLY made adding YouTube videos a snap. Plus, you have many more controls over how the video plays (automatically, loop, and full screen). In the past, if you clicked on the link, it would open up your local browser, and then you had to watch ads and maximize to fit the screen. Trust me, it was a pain in the butt to have to do that. Now, in Microsoft Powerpoint, all you have to do is click on the insert tab, navigate to the video, click on the down arrow, select online video, and paste the hyperlink to the video. It is that easy. I'm still trying to figure out how they avoid ads.

• Time... it does not take me hours to create a presentation with animations.
• Ease of use...it does not take (even a novice) very long to create a stunning presentation.
• Size of the file...there is no limit on size of PowerPoints. But the more pictures you add to your presentation will greatly increase the size of your file.
• My rant is for Microsoft to come up with a way to avoid ads when using a YouTube video.

My organization allows us to access the entire Microsoft 365 package which means we have access to Microsoft word, Excel, Powerpoint etc. In our organization, we use Microsoft Powerpoint to prepare presentations, helping in management strategies, communicate assessments and providing visual aids to stakeholders.

For my use case, being a Software Developer responsible for designing and developing web applications, I use Microsoft Powerpointto craft presentations for detailing objectives, communicating timelines and going over resource requirements. At the same time, it helps in summarizing technical information into digestible slides for a diverse set of audiences. Most of the Knowledge Transfer sessions which i conduct are also done using Microsoft Powerpoint.

• Helps internal teams to create and share KT sessions effectively saving time with onboarding new team members
• Helps Stakeholders and Senior Management in making decisions quickly. Things which would have been difficult to comprehend without illustrative presentations. This saves time and money
• Need to use it along with other tools specially when detailed analysis or information needs to be shared which slows down the process
