ManageEngine Endpoint Central is widely adopted by IT teams for comprehensive endpoint management, addressing operational and security challenges across diverse environments. In TrustRadius reviews, its primary utility lies in maintaining system health and security, with robust patch management for OS and third-party applications being a dominant strength, cited by 63% of reviewers. Organizations also extensively use it for remote support, streamlined software and OS deployment, configuration management, and detailed asset inventory.

While reviewers appreciate the significant time savings and improved operational efficiency, some note areas for enhancement. Specific concerns include difficulties with software deployment and patch failures, particularly for Mac OS and Linux applications, and a desire for more flexible reporting and clearer error messages. Overall, the platform is seen as a valuable tool for optimizing IT operations, though a few reviewers perceive the full suite as potentially expensive.

Best bang for the buck

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

ManageEngine Endpoint Central has allowed our business to wrangle in all of our assets, track them, manage them, and capture meaningful data for us to report on. It offers a wide range of tools and customizations at a reasonable price. It's integrations with the other many Manage Engine toolsets is also a nice plus.

The two negatives that I can think of are the issues with getting image capturing/deployment working and patch management. They seem to be very powerful and capable features, but have been struggling to get them working in our environment. I'll be working with the extremely supportive and helpful support team. I just need to make time for it.

Pros

  • Endpoint management
  • Reporting
  • Data capturing
  • Useful utilities
  • Meaningful data collection

Cons

  • OS Image Deployment
  • OS Image Capturing
  • Patch Management

I have integration setup with our other ManageEngine product, ServiceDesk Plus, and that integration is working flawlessly. I recommend this product to anyone looking to introduce an endpoint management solution at a reasonable and affordable price.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use ManageEngine Endpoint Central for Soft- and hardware inventory, as well as software distribution, patch management, imaging, browser configuration and configuration of workstations.

I general we needed a service to configure and control all our desktops, find we it attractive to have all functions in one piece of software - which we have with ManageEngine Endpoint Central.

Pros

  • Imaging
  • Patch Management
  • Software Deployment
  • Inventory

Cons

  • Remote Control of clients

Likelihood to Recommend

Its a one stop shop for managing small to midsized companies, but I would be nervous to rely on the product in large installations. I feel both stability, updating of software etc. is to unreliable and require to much support from Manage Engine, to keep a float.
Also to often you find a patch to the product, solve one problem but implement another, which leaves us thinking the testing of updates is not performed very well/comprehensive.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use ManageEngine Endpoint Central to manage all our Endpoints in our company. This has greatly solved an issue we had after employees went full remote or hybrid. Now we are able to remote assist as well as push out updates and patches to machines on / off our network.

Pros

  • Remote Assistance
  • Endpoint Patch Management
  • Endpoint Management

Cons

  • Creating packages for deployment can be a tad tricky at first
  • Some steps when using certain features don't make sense always

Likelihood to Recommend

If you have a lot of endpoints to manage / maintain
If you have endpoints that are not on your network, and you need to maintain them / remote assist
