CRM platform for complex marketing.

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We primarily use it to create emails and automate email campaigns. However, we have also recently started using it for text notifications, and it works well. Intuit Mailchimp is beneficial for triggered email sequences when you need variables that depend on users' behavior, sales, dates, and other multiple factors.

Pros

  • Automation
  • Email generation.
  • Segmentation

Cons

  • It got more complicated and confusing.
  • Limited email customization.
  • Hidden costs behind already high prices.

Likelihood to Recommend

I loved Mailchimp 10 years ago, and as a long-time user, I appreciate working with the brand I've been attached to for so many years. It still works well with regular email campaigns and with automation. However, if your email audience is constantly growing and you have a limited budget, it may be wise to explore the more affordable options.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Mailchimp as our primary communication tool when sending out mass emails and newsletters to our constituents and donors. As a registered charity, keeping our donors and community informed and up to date on our programs and projects is crucial for retention and securing continued support. As our constituent base grows, that communication piece not only becomes more essential but can also potentially consume a larger portion of our limited time. Mailchimp enables us to maintain communication intuitively and professionally, which we truly enjoy and appreciate.

Pros

  • Intuitive workflow.
  • Easy to navigate tools.
  • Solid and reliable analytics and reporting.

Cons

  • More competitive pricing.
  • Importing contact records could be more streamlined.
  • Continually adding more diverse templates for mailouts.

Likelihood to Recommend

Intuit Mailchimp is well-suited for medium- to larger-sized businesses and/or organizations that want to provide regular and effective communication with their constituents and communities. Mailchimp not only provides us with a secure place to store organized records of everyone with whom we are connected, but also offers excellent and valuable tools for creating professional-looking content that significantly enhances our ability to convey our message in an organized and effective manner.

A great asset for a small church.

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Mailchimp to communicate with our church congregation. We have regular emails and special announcement emails that go out to anywhere from 10-150 people at a time. We love utilizing the templates for our regular emails and the ease of customizing them for our brand and needs. We also love creating lists and integrating them with our people manager software, as well as the ability to schedule them to send at our convenience. We are very happy with our experience with Mailchimp!

Pros

  • Ease of creating attractive emails.
  • Ease of creating lists and user subscriptions.
  • Seeing drafts of emails in different types of screen sizes.
  • Scheduling emails to send when we want them to arrive in people’s inboxes.

Cons

  • The ease of text formatting could be improved.

I send out the Sunday Church service as a Weekend Replay. I use the same template, and it works smoothly every week! I enjoy how easy it is to make templates and save templates on a week-to-week basis. I have no complaints.

Pros

  • Sending out emails in bulk.
  • Having saved templates.
  • Looks profession and readable.

Cons

  • Having to log in every couple weeks can get annoying.

It is well-suited for sending out emails to multiple people. It is user-friendly.

Review of Mailchimp

Rating: 4 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are a not for profit organisation and we use Mailchimp to send monthly newsletter (and occasionally fundraising emails) to our supporters, or to advertise some of our events, and we also have specific newsletters for two of our centers and/or sub-audiences (followers of our network, press releases for media)

Pros

  • sending emails automatically to our contact list
  • divide different categories of people in separate audiences
  • follow who opens / don't open our emails

Cons

  • sometimes people get unsubscribed automatically from our emails simply because there might be a temporary problem between Mailchimp and their email server... It's nearly impossible to put them back in
  • when the two-steps sign in is in place (I disabled this recently) many people do not click on the "confirm your registration" email. Either the email lands in their spam box, and/or (in our case) the name of the email was misleading and we have lost a lot of people who never confirmed. And it's impossible to see people who are "pending" and to send them a reminder
  • it's very difficult to re-register once one has unsubscribed from a mailing list
  • it would be good to be able to "validate" before people are "cleaned" from Mailchimp (as it's sometimes by mistake)
  • it is too expansive (even with a 10% discount as a non profit) (and I was not told I could get a discount until several years after I had subscribed)

Likelihood to Recommend

it's good for people who just want to send emails to supporters or clients ;
it is not so good for people who need a proper CRM (too bad that Mailchimp does not allow people who don't have emails to be registered on database as the email is the unique identifier).

Intuit Mailchimp gets the job done!

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have used Intuit Mailchimp for two clients, plus my own newsletter, for more than 7 years. I use both the free version and the paid version. The interface is easy to use, and I love the basic analytics that I can get just a few days later.

I also like the interface with my social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram). I wish it connected a couple more, but I can also tie one of those networks into IFTTT or Zapier to push my newsletter to other networks.

Pros

  • Newsletter creation interface
  • Analytics
  • Social media connections
  • Ease of adding new subscribers

Cons

  • Add more social networks to the ability to push new newsletters to
  • Easier ability to switch between accounts

Likelihood to Recommend

It's great for small businesses, creative professionals, and nonprofits. I use it for all three of these organizations (including my own efforts), and I like Intuit Mailchimp more than any of the other email providers I have used.

It's great for building an email audience and automating drip campaigns for promoting a particular service or ongoing campaign. It's easy to use and to set up and make it work.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it typically as a newsletter to our congregation or smaller groups to help communicate what is coming up. It is a great tool to help with communicating to multiple audiences for all the different needs they may have. We also love the versatility of having multiple users being able to send out emails as well.

Pros

  • Detailed Audience
  • Functionality in the Campaign building
  • Being able to have multiple users on the same main account

Cons

  • Editor tool, weird between the two editing platforms. Still getting used to it.

Likelihood to Recommend

When sending out a monthly email, it is wonderful to be able to build out a draft, save it and then come back to edit it. Additionally it is very helpful to build out the emails. Intuit Mailchimp also has some additional services that I am excited to begin looking at.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Mailchimp to send newsletters, event invites and other major e-blasts to our auidences. We needed a way to send mass emails and Mailchimp does a great job. We've also recently incorporated surveys, but that's still new for us. We hope to have more info in the coming weeks.

Pros

  • Newsletter building and sending
  • Customer service
  • Ease of use
  • Nonprofit discount

Cons

  • Better communication when things change

Likelihood to Recommend

There are lots of times where we may need to send a targeted email blast to donors, advisors or nonprofit/community folks. Mailchimp is great for doing that. We have our lists and make sure to update them so people can get their emails. It's easy to build out the emails and send.
