Macrium Reflect - Powerful and reliable

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Since you need a backup of your data in cases something goes wrong, I tried a couple of different programs. I finally stick to Macrium Reflect because it is easy to handle and reliable. Each time I needed a copy of a certain drive, it was easy to restore the data. So far, in over five years I didn’t encounter a single problem.

Pros

  • Macrium Reflect ist easily manageable.
  • Macrium Reflect backs up fast.
  • Macrium Reflect accurately handles scheduled backups.

Cons

  • The program could reduce a bit the space it takes for its backups.
  • It should be more affordable.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Macrium for disk imaging tasks and to produce accurate concatenated, compressed copies of volumes, sets of volumes, and/or disks.

Pros

  • Image drives/disks/volumes.
  • Provide incremental backups through imaging.
  • Provide mountable disk or volume images.

Cons

  • I can't think of anything which needs improvement at the moment.

Return on Investment

  • We are not quantifying impact for our company.
  • Macrium Reflect has allowed several system transfers from a failing drive to a new drive.

A gem for for people looking for Partition Backup software

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Some users are currently using Macrium Reflect backup windows partitions to have an of the OS to restore in case of any hardware crashes, virus attacks, etc. The application is easy to set up. It reliably makes a backup of partition(s) and restores them without issues. I also like that its speed of backing up and restoring is excellent.

  • Did not face any issues till now when restoring.
  • Free version available for commercial use also.

Cons

  • Some of the features can be explained in the program itself as some are a little too difficult to understand.

  • Backing up OS image partitions and restoring them in case of any emergency.
  • Cloning HDD's to each other.
