macOs is used when debugging the code in visual studio code and also when connecting remotely to windows servers and personal pc using windows app. macOs is also used to manage database

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The company is 50/50 Mac and Windows. The Macs are primarily used for Video and Audio post-production and content creation. Generally speaking, the lifecycle of the Macs lasts twice as long as the average Windows machine. Especially for laptops.

Pros

  • Hardware and OS seamlessly work together.
  • Hardware lasts longer.
  • Elegant interface tailored for creative work.

Cons

  • I personally can't think of anything.

Return on Investment

  • We use several of the Macs with a SAN. macOS has built-in XSAN licensing, which saves us from additional costs.
  • The price per unit is higher up front, but units last longer, so in the end, I'd say Macs cost less over their lifetime.
  • The Apple image. They just look better then a Windows laptop

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Ease of use, extremely fluid syncing between accounts and devices, battery optimizations. Reliability, security and constant software updates ensure a smooth and constant user experience software use is not specific to macOS so being able to utilise Safari and also Chrome for testing purposes makes a very seamless process for users

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use macOS in a Windows environment out of my own pocket (the company supplies Windows computers to its employees). I do this because of two primary reasons: One, my own personal computer used at work is not subject to the same management structure that the other office computers are subject to. This means all of my access is remote and no files reside on my computer - but it's a small price to pay for having newer technology. The other reason is that my entire technical life lives inside the Apple Ecosystem. I bought it years ago and am now too deep to even contemplate moving away. As such, my computer at work connects to my iPad and iPhone so I can use the functions of taking pictures with my phone from my computer as well as using my iPad as another monitor when needed.

  • Information passed between those devices is encrypted end to end (understanding that apple has the keys in some cases)
  • Compact design
  • Aesthetically pleasing

Cons

  • Integration within a windows environment does require more work.
  • Does not play well with PCL based network printers that do not also support PS.
  • Dongles for everything

  • Apple supports their hardware longer than most manufacturers, which is good.
  • Apple's hardware is more expensive than similar equipment competition, which is bad but offset somewhat by its longevity.
