  • I wish the dashboard design was a bit more modern, but functionally it’s solid.

As e-invoicing is mandatory in my country, LOVAT helps me to keep all entries up to date

Pros

  • Each country in Europe has different rules and to keep all of them in the head is quite complicated . LOVAT has all the resources and means to keep all up to date. Very good for me

  • Sometimes hard to know all tax related acronyms

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use LOVAT to automatically file VAT tax returns. We have an online store, we sell to different countries, so without automation it would be a lot of paperwork. LOVAT takes care of the calculations, reminders, and the filing itself — it saves a lot of time.

Pros

  • The biggest plus is that everything is automated. We connected the store, everything works just fine: VAT was calculated, declarations were filed, nothing was forgotten.
  • Support is also standard - if something is unclear, they answer quickly and to the point.

Cons

  • Navigation in the dashboard is not very good. Sometimes it is a bit difficult to find the desired function the first time. For example, we did not immediately understand where to add new countries or reports. It would be cool to have tips in the interface

Likelihood to Recommend

LOVAT is great for online businesses selling in the EU or UK — fast registration and automated reporting. Less suitable for local companies without cross-border activity.

We

contacted LOVAT for help with VAT registration. We are also currently using a

trial subscription to the LOVAT software.

It is still too early for me to assess the advantages and disadvantages of

the software. However, I would like to acknowledge the LOVAT support team,

which has provided us with professional assistance in understanding the

intricacies of tax legislation in different countries and our obligations to

the tax authorities. I am very happy with the level of service that the LOVAT team has provided us.

In the beginning, I joined the platform to track thresholds. As soon as I exceed the threshold in Canada, LOVAT informed me of this and offered to help with registration. It was really convenient for me! Now I do not worry about filing reports, because I know that everything will be prepared and submitted without errors and on time. All the tax issues and compliance are extensively managed by LOVAT and we have no problems with different authorities when working with the program.

Credible, Automated and Standard Tax Compliance Program

We were selling only in the US and were dealing with Sales Tax with which were familiar. However, when we decided to expand to the EU and Australia we realized that it's a completely different tax system and had many troubles in understanding how it works. Lovat team and their platform helped us by explaining everything and solved our matters with tax reporting and now we are using it for both the USA and EU and Australia as the platform supports all of these regions and we handle our tax reporting in one place in one account of our company.

Pros

  • Variety of subscription plans which are flexible thanks to possibilities of purchasing various add-ons.
  • Tax audit reports which are available for download is a great feature that allows us to have a deeper look to our transactions from different sales channels of ours.
  • The support team in always helped us with difficulties or questions that we had on different stages while working with LOVAT

Cons

  • Include bigger amount of transactions to be supported by subscription plans
  • Make 24 hour support
  • In some countries VAT returns are not submitted immediately

Likelihood to Recommend

The automatic calculation of tax returns is absolutely great as almost no manual work is needed but the information about imports is not picked up automatically by the system and has to be filled manually. Furthermore, the filing of VAT tax among other specific taxation requirements has been resolved by LOVAT.

In our company, the platform is mainly used by the tax department.

The business task is always the same, I'm talking about the timely filing of taxes to the authorities and this brings the tax compliance aspect. And so far, we are successfully completing this task on a monthly basis without fail.

  • Consultation when it's needed

Cons

  • Some processes take extra time
  • It will take some time and preferably a demo call with the support team to learn how to use the software yourself
  • Unfortunately, consultation on really difficult questions can be obtained only for an additional fee

  • Free trial period. That helps to test the software before purchase

It's well suited for e-commerce companies that sell abroad in various regions since it collects all the different data from different regions in countries in one place. However, for domestic sales it can't be the best solution as probably your domestic accountancy will require more professional tools. The program also supports tax compliance and accountability for companies.

Standard, Acceptable, and Correct Taxation Tool

We have solved the problem of our accountancy department having to dedicate a full time of our accountant in the main office just to fill excel spreadsheets for each country of reporting. We've also solved the problem of being sure that VAT was calculated correctly and tax rates are valid because our previous system didn’t have any automation. We were never sure when the tax rate had changed. We are sure that everything is valid and legally binding with LOVAT.

Pros

  • I love that we don’t need to send tax transaction data for our sales to LOVAT – it is simply integrated with our e-stores!
  • It makes the process so much faster than filling excel spreadsheets or uploading manually. At the end of the month, we simply see all of the data in our LOVAT account.
  • Collecting data takes time, and it's a waste of time when we can do it digitally.
  • I like that we can make some fields required and some optional and that I can use multiple selling platforms and be sure that I'm getting valid tax data.

Cons

  • I dislike that you have to have a departure address set for each order to calculate tax. A lot of our goods are stored in several warehouses, and I cannot predict where would be departure address.
  • It can also be overwhelming how many options there are when setting up the tax settings section. I wish it were easier to set up fields based on fields being checked with checkboxes.

Likelihood to Recommend

You need a way to calculate VAT on your remote sales and store tax documents electronically. As part of your evaluation, I would include LOVAT as an option. <span style="letter-spacing: -0.6px; word-spacing: -0.75px;">With LOVAT, we can also avoid asking clients to provide additional information at check out, which keeps our conversion rate higher. It's so easy to upload tax data, calculate VAT, and submit VAT forms</span>
