Looker is our BI choice for our Google software and services. It is the simplest way to create dashboards and Business Intelligence reporting for your Google marketing and advertising endeavors. Although there are many, many similar pieces of software on the market, we have found that no other reporting system provides feeds from our YouTube, Google Search Console, Analytics, and Google AdSense all in one tight package.
Pros
Reports from Google software and services data feeds
Creating simple, clean dashboards
Better reporting than AdWords or Google Analytics.
Cons
Documentation is scarce, and very difficult to find when you need it.
Pricing is unclear, particularly as you look to scale your reports across the business.
Data from other sources is not represented in the system as well as first party Google services.
Likelihood to Recommend
Looker is ideal if you are heavily invested in Google Services, particularly marketing related services, and you with to quickly create reporting dashboards for that data. It gets more difficult when you try to tie in data from other services, and I would not use this were I already using BI package - it is not anywhere near as well supported or as widely known as some of its major competitors, but what it does do, it does do well.

Looker is (usually) free and easy to set up using built-in connectors to Google's tools. Having a Looker dashboard is often easier to use and access than the default GA4 reports and Looker gives you the ability to add your own objectives using Google Sheet for example. and Looker is our go-to tool for reporting on all the users' data in our platforms.
Pros
Performance is solid, even with large datasets—it stays fast and responsive
Drag & Drop Data Querying
You can customize dashboards to fit your company’s specific needs.
Cons
Adding AI features would be a big plus.
Flexibility
Combining metrics and figuring out the percent change.

It is far better to share data with "non-data people" or at a glance than with spreadsheets. It enables quicker decision-making by giving us real-time insights.
Looker is used as cross cross-functional reporting dashboard, for teams to keep track of important metrics, progress of projects and overall health of features and customer activity. Each board can be customized with your own built graphs and tables, making it easier to connect data and limiting the need for individuals to dig into analytic platforms or raw data - creating a central source of truth.
Pros
Connects data between different sources
Free/low cost option in the g-suite
easy/templated visuals to portray data
Cons
Comment/Discussion functionality could be improved
Limited ability for individual exploration of data beyond reports
more advanced visual customizations and graphs would be nice
Likelihood to Recommend
A great option for teams already in G-suite/Google Analytics, that are looking to create one central source of truth for reporting on product/project activity and health. Once built, tables are fairly intuitive to understand and share across your team. Multiple graphs and tables are easy to organize to ladder up into larger projects.

We use Looker Studio to create customizable but bespoke reports on clients' marketing and sales activities. When clients come to us with a reporting issue, we use Looker Studio to deliver the result.
Pros

Aggregating multiple data sources via connectors.
Cons
More granular sharing options (integrating with Microsoft AD for example).

It's incredibly versatile and swift to create a proof-of-concept dashboard. We have turned projects around in a fraction of the time it would have taken with other products, such as PowerBI. It's also easier to get clients to use it, as it's free to use, unlike the more limited offering Power BI provides for free.
We use Looker as our visualization tool where we are able to complete thorough account analysists and make decisions accordingly. We use quite a few different looks depending on what we're looking for. We use wallet history to detect any strange gaming patterns, we use transaction history to detect any strange purchasing patterns. We're able to check for any duplicated accounts to know what accounts needs to be closed.
Pros
Pinpoints the various purchasing errors
gives an overall review of a players account on one page
Has the option of creating multiple looks depending on what is needed
Easily integrated with other apps being used
Cons
loading time for certain looks can be improved
has an option of viewing more without having to download, specifically account histories
Improve on the delay when actions taken on Backoffice apps

Looker excels in empowering business users to analyze data autonomously. Its intuitive interface and ready-made visualizations facilitate the exploration of intricate datasets without the need for data analysts. This is particularly advantageous in situations where teams require prompt responses to queries or the monitoring of vital metrics. However, Looker's emphasis on user-friendliness may pose limitations for extensive data manipulation. If your requirements entail intricate calculations or highly personalized dashboards, alternative tools may provide greater flexibility.
Some stakeholders use Looker to help visualise data that has been made available to them as part of our 'DaaP' programme (data as a product). The simple and intuitive nature allows simple connection to our data warehouse, native/cache'd querying, dynamic visuals, and an abstraction/semantic layer to sit between raw/modelled data and visulisation.
Pros
Semantic layer
Dynamic visualisations
Intuitive design
Cons
Can be slow at times
Some features locked behind pricing tiers
Semantic layer requires additional knowledge to use to full extent
Likelihood to Recommend
Looker is great at providing a semantic layer between your data warehouse and visualisation. It allows the raw data to be sliced and diced in different ways depending on what you want to achieve which is great for keeping the production code base clean and tidy. This can sometimes lead to silo'd data transformation or re-invention of the wheel, but if maintained and regulated correctly can be a real enabler of self-serve analytics. Allowing you to create a data mesh in where each department can look after their own data and allow joining on a set standard across the organisation.
