Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our company uses Litera Desktop daily to create many different types of legal documents for our clients. These documents range from letters to pleadings and motions, garnishments, spreadsheets, legal research, and work product privileged materials. Using Litera Desktop allows us to create, review, redline, and make corrections within a single program.

Cons

Redline compare more than two documents at a time.
Redline compare documents from different locations.
Redline compare different formats of documents.

Likelihood to Recommend

Litera Desktop has many functions, but it is still a user-friendly program. Very easy to implement and easy to train. We send a variety of documents to clients and other legal professionals electronically. Litera will clean and scrub documents so that there is no hidden metadata when the documents are transferred. This keeps not only our clients and their files safe, but it keeps our email programs safe and clean as well.

It is the easy way in the market to find any errors in the revision of formats of various authors, which makes us a more advanced format in the capacity of application bars, the most functional thing is that the user will not have to Office but from home, you can use the application, its technology is especially around the browser, which makes it easier to understand and quickly create comparisons, to reduce the time used.

Reducing the time spent comparing documents allows us to work more easily.
Properly analyzing documents makes artificial intelligence make combined changes to it.
It is the best tool in the way that we professionals use it since it is complete in all facets.

Cons

It is the best when comparing any text or fragment of any content.
It helps us to better understand the purchases at the moment of making a move in our newsroom.
Its compatibility with other systems is very effective and safe, it makes us communicate safely.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

This software is used in some spaces within the organization. Being a university where it is used, the spaces assigned for this program are those of research and thematic of masters and doctorates. There are many more spaces where it can be applied, but for now the use is more in these sections. It has helped save time, financial expenses over distances, and prevent administrative and research problems.

Pros

Exact in the corrections on the changes.
It does it in no time, almost instantly.
It is a safe program, we can trust the data that is handled in the work process of this software.

Cons

There are some dilemmas with access with some of our contributors.
In document comparison, the name of the document sometimes changes.
When service has been requested from the software developers, for example when a part of the program fails, there are no quick answers to repair or resolve our issues.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is a great program, a great innovation, that perhaps some will not understand how useful it is. But you must have secure software like this, where you can rest the task of denoting changes in important digital documentation, where you can save time, money, and effort. Some features could be improved, but we see that updating by update improves everything.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Workshare Compare to do a couple of things:

<ol><li>I use it to show the differences between two versions of a document. For example, I will run a comparison before I send a revised document out to a client, and then send them a copy of the comparison to show them what has been changed. This is a general sort of use.</li><li>I use it to proof my own changes to a document that I have been working on. I find that this is the most effective way to proof my revisions because it highlights the content you have changed (and need to proof).</li><li>I use it to check if the other side has changed any content in a document. For example, some of the time the other side will send you an "execution version," but we need to check that they did not change anything material at the last minute.</li></ol>This software is used by all of the lawyers and paralegal at my organization. The business problem it addresses fundamentally comes down to version control—lawyers frequently work with multiple versions of the same document, and this is a key component of our version control procedures.

Clearly shows the changes between two documents using multiple colors of text and crossing-out and underlining.
Has diverse options for savings and sending the comparison document (Word, PDF and its own proprietary file format).
Has multiple options for letting you review each of the changes (in sequential order or by type of change).

Cons

While Workshare Compare does let you compare PDFs and does feature some optical character recognition software, this feature only works with relatively straightforward PDFs (that are either already text readable or are very short). For longer scans, you need to first use Adobe Pro to convert those scans to Word documents, and then compare the converted Word documents. It would be nice if Workshare had a more powerful engine for comparing PDFs that allowed you to skip this intermediate step.

Likelihood to Recommend

Workshare Compare is well suited for professionals who review multiple versions of a document multiple times per day (or even per week). I would suggest that this is most lawyers. It is maybe less well suited if you only need to run comparisons once in a while. Word has a comparison feature built in which is so-so. I just find the Word comparisons harder to read. But if I was only running comparisons once a week on short documents then the Word version is probably fine, and Word is software that most people have anyways.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Workshare 9 is used daily by the entire law firm to remove all meta-data from Word documents sent as email attachments via Outlook. Workshare 9 is also used to accurately and easily create perfect comparisons of the latest version of a document to an earlier version.

Pros

Workshare 9 is easy to set up program that removes metadata from all word documents and all emails sent via Outlook It is a simple Add-in that is linked to one's Microsoft Outlook Program. Provides excellent security that all Metadata is removed and never available to the recipient.
Workshare 9's document comparison program is world class in terms of speed and accuracy, creating an easily red comparison documenmt that highlights deletions from, additions to and items relocated within the document.
It is easy to adjust the level of security that you want in your documents and in your email program
It allows you to directly place a document in a new email.
It allows you to convert a Word document to a PDF document (creating an Adobe PDF or if you elect a Workshare PDF

Cons

You need to be careful when using a PDF Filler to turn off (easily done by un-checking a box that pops up alongside the forwarding email) the Metadata removal, as it will empty everything from the PDF form that you just added.
