Business Problems Solved
Listrak has been praised by users for its ease of use in creating and sending email campaigns. Users find the platform intuitive and appreciate features such as the ability to import and upload media files, modify HTML, and create drag & drop templates for emails. The segmentation capabilities of Listrak allow users to send targeted marketing emails to specific, dynamic segments, resulting in more personalized communication with their audience.
One of the standout features of Listrak is its ability to send triggered email campaigns, which users have found incredibly simple to set up. These triggered sends have yielded positive results, with some users even seeing a split of 60/40 or 50/50 between marketing and triggered sends. Although initially perceived as a sophisticated platform, users have discovered that Listrak becomes easier to use once they learn a few tricks.
Listrak is widely used across organizations and serves as the primary digital marketing tool for monthly email campaigns to customers. By simplifying tasks such as email automation based on customer engagement and implementing dynamic content, Listrak saves users time and effort. It integrates well with custom-developed eCommerce websites, allowing tracking and utilization of customer purchase history for effective follow-up.
Users have also benefited from the continuous improvement of Listrak's features and functionality, enabling them to enhance their marketing efforts and drive better results. Customer support is highly regarded for providing assistance and explanations when needed. From email acquisition to customer retention, Listrak offers a comprehensive solution for organizations seeking powerful email marketing capabilities.
We currently utilize Listrak for multiple reasons. Email acquisition and customer retention mainly. We recently brought email deployment in house from previously working with an outside agency for cost savings. The platform is used primarily by our marketing and e-commerce departments within the organization, although we share results with our Planning and Merchandising teams.
Pros
The conductor email builder is easy to use.
They have improved their customer service team.
Open to suggestions and will work collaboratively.
Help build insights from campaigns and recommend improvements.
Cons
Every new function requires a different fee for integration, becomes cost prohibitive.
Reporting dashboards are in different places for different campaign flows.
Expensive platform but expansive. Klaviyo is much more reasonably priced but not as scalable as Listrak.

The Listrak team has been very helpful to identify insights where we don't have the team members in-house to pull the info. They have helped identify campaigns and new functionality that will bring revenue and optimize our existing database. Every feature they offer is valuable but can be cost-prohibitive to keep adding.
We use Listrak as our email provider for our consumer email marketing program for our direct to consumer website. It is the only ESP we use.
Pros
Support on issues / troubleshooting
Account support
New products/offerings
Cons
Would like more examples of what is working well for other clients
Likelihood to Recommend
Listrak is well suited for any company that is selling direct to consumers via a website. [It has] So many modules like cart abandonment, price drop alerts, etc. Cannot comment on using Listrak for non-commerce sites.
Listrak was implemented because we needed to find a solution to assist with our email marketing campaigns. We mostly use their services for abandoned cart and general promotional email blasts. It was mostly used in our marketing and social media departments - but we also used the software in conjunction with our merchandising and product development teams.
Pros
Many options for email campaigns
Built in integrations for multiple platforms
Knowledgeable tech support
Cons
Difficult and steep learning curve
Email builder is complicated and not intuitive
CONTRACTS ARE UNCLEAR
Company will not honor cancellation requests made in a timely manner

Listrak is well suited for organizations with large teams of developers and visual designers. These teams are required due to the complexity of set up. Having further looked into alternative options - there are other programs and solutions on the market that offer a much easier system of use.
The main complaint and reason that this review is only getting 1 star is due to the difficulty of canceling our contract. They will lock you in with ridiculous and overly complicated contracts and steal your money. We have been Listrak customers for about 2 years, and we were looking to move to a more streamlined and simpler solution for our marketing email campaigns. We found a solution and promptly emailed our Listrak - 30 days before our renewal was due - rep advising her that we would like to proceed with the cancellation of our contract. She advised that it would be a few days of research into our account before she could complete our request. We were notified that they were unable to cancel our contract - and that they would be able to cancel AFTER WE PAY THE FULL PRICE OF OUR ONE YEAR CONTRACT. They continue to refer us to speak with their lawyer now - instead of honoring our request and taking into account our years of loyalty and thousands of dollars paid to them - EVERY MONTH.

Listrak is our email services provider. We use it to send out marketing and promotional emails to our customer database.
Pros
In the world of self-service models for ESPs, Listrak provides a hybrid solution. They offer an inexpensive self-serve model that comes with an account rep for services and support.
Great platform with many features and functions that is in a constant state of evolution and improvement.
They have a great CEO who was the original founder of the company. He's managed to grow the business but chose not to be acquired like so many other ESPs in the past decade. This makes them nimble and able to address the needs of their customers.
Their primary focus is helping eCommerce retailers grow their revenue using email marketing.
Cons
Contract – be very careful about reading the fine lines of the contract. The pricing is not as straight-forward as others and they try to get you to commit for two years, which makes it more expensive in the second year, as your list grows.
The warm-up process was done incorrectly on my account and, as a result, we got blacklisted by Gmail. This could have been avoided if more attention had been paid to the process. We are going to be digging out of this for quite a while.
Shopping cart abandonment issue - if you're on Shopify (and not Shopify Plus), Listrak is unable to capture the email address of someone who abandons their cart deep in the process. This is a feature other ESPs who have been Shopify integrations offer and a real area of opportunity for Listrak.
Listrak does not have an Amazon integration. Not all ESP's have this and it isn't something all eCommerce retailers want, but we could sure use it.
User interface is not bad, but not quite as user friendly as others.

Great for the mid-tier e-commerce retailer looking to increase sales using email marketing. Not as well suited for non-e-commerce businesses and very e-commerce small businesses
We use Listrak mostly as a email marketing tool. It is utilized by our marketing and .com teams. It holds and organizes our subscriptions lists and has a great user friendly dashboard for creating emails. You can use the drag and drop tool if you are technically challenged but there is also HTML editing if you are comfortable creating in that environment. The reports are also well built.
Pros
Segmentation is one of my favorite features. We love being able to pull specific audiences and tailor our marketing to the individual customer.
Importing and exporting lists is very self explanatory and easy to manage.
The main dash has a great overview of your most recent messages and metrics.
Cons
We have a Top Contributors list that we use that is a little tricky to update. When you import the list the software will check for duplicates which is nice but we would love to see an option where names that are on the new list but not in the previous list can be easily removed. Right now it is a manual process so it's a little time consuming.
Likelihood to Recommend
We use Listrak to send cart abandonment emails, welcome emails, and sales emails. We also use the segmentation tool to find specific customers if we are looking for feedback on new products or specific issues. This has been a great way to reach out to them in a very personalized way.
