Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Liquid-Web for our website hosting across our entire organization. We have used other web hosts before, but Liquid-Web has been great and there hasn't been any downtime or speed issues with our websites. Liquid-Web makes it easy to change DNS settings, set up cron jobs, change server settings, and it is even compatible with Let's Encrypt, so adding SSL certificates is incredibly easy.

Pros

Managing the server side is incredibly easy. Liquid-Web offers a GUI through WHM or you can remote in through SSH. The GUI makes it really easy for regular users to change simple settings or add new SSL certificates. And the support team has also added some safeguards so that you can't do too much damage through WHM.
Liquid-Web makes it easy to setup new hosting accounts, allocate differing sizes, and managing users of those accounts through WHM. If you want to resell any of the space you don't use or resell to clients, you can easily do so.
The support team at Liquid-Web is great and they also respond quickly. When I first setup the account there were some odd DNS issues and the Liquid-Web tech was very knowledgeable and helped me out in no time!

Cons

The only con I can think of is Liquid-Web is more expensive, but it is a managed VPS so the price is on par with other similar services. There are some cheaper managed VPS plans out there, but in my experience, those often come with mediocre support and periodic server issues.

Likelihood to Recommend

Liquid-Web is great if you have a large website that's going to receive a lot of traffic. I've never had downtime in the almost 4 years I've been using their service and I can't say that for any other hosting company I have used. If you're looking for a reliable hosting company with great support to back it up, then Liquid-Web is a perfect choice.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Liquid-Web for web hosting services and support. They provide managed web servers (both physical or virtual) and expert support thereof. This allows our organization and department to focus on core services and trust Liquid-Web with day to day management and reliability of the hosting systems on which we work.

Pros

Support - the expertise of their top tier support is hard to match
Management Tools - the interface is quite good and full-featured, and they add features when they see a need for them
Hosting performance
Hosting reliability

Cons

Maintaining Excellence - it feels like they have hit a bit of an inflection point lately. Hopefully they will grow through it and maintain their high standards, where other hosts have faltered.
Pricing - if price is the only factor for you, there are much cheaper options available. Liquid-Web does not seem to target the commodity hosting market.

Likelihood to Recommend

Any situation where high performance, reliability, and availability of expert support [are needed]. If your website or application has high resource needs and/or high traffic, Liquid-Web may be a good fit. If expert hosting support would be a helpful complement to your (or your team's) expertise, Liquid-Web may fill that niche for you. If pricing is a big concern, you may want to compare with lower cost, commodity hosting options.
