What is Leadpages?

Leadpages is a landing page software that helps to grow small businesses without tech headaches. Leadpages can be used with or without WordPress, on Leadpages' servers or on the user's own. Leadpages aims to eliminate the high cost of website developers and freelancers when creating a company's most important marketing web pages.

Included in all plans:
  • Unlimited landing pages, pop-ups, and alert bars for lead generation and sales
  • Website builder for a streamlined approach to converting more visitors
  • Connect to major email providers directly or through Zapier
  • Tech support from a talented and empathetic team (based in US and Canada)
  • Weekly conversion coaching for marketing advice
  • Direct integrations with Calendly and OpenTable
  • Take payments online (embed third-party tools, or connect to Stripe directly on our Pro plan)
Leadpages is best suited small businesses who transform the lives of their clients through coaching, workshops, bootcamps, and services. Top categories include business coaches and consultants, fitness/health coaches, speakers, authors, real estate agents, financial service providers, freelancers, restaurants, and marketing agencies. App developers often use Leadpages to market their apps outside of the app store as well.

Leadpages is not well-suited for ecommerce or catalog brands with dozens of products, although many Leadpages customers use the software alongside Shopify and BigCommerce stores for list building.

As a no-code platform, Leadpages is built with the non-designer in mind. The user doesn't need programming skills, HTML, or CSS knowledge (although with these page code can be tweaked to the user's liking).

Leadpages makes both great design and accurate analytics easy!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I used Leadpages to create opt-in pages for both organic and paid traffic. Conversion rate is important, and Leadpages made it super easy to see what performed best with my audiences. I also used Leadpages to collect payments, making it far easier to combine both lead generation and sales into one platform.

Pros

  • Allows you to create beautiful landing pages with an easy drag-and-drop page builder
  • Allows you to track performance metrics across all of your pages
  • Allows you to collect payments directly within the platform

Cons

  • The payment feature is newer, and could offer more options (such as split payments)
  • I would love to be able to archive old, outdated pages to unclutter my dashboard

Most Important Features

  • Drag-and-drop page builder
  • Integration with ActiveCampaign
  • Performance tracking for all of our pages

Return on Investment

  • I was able to test content with a cold audience and really see what resonated
  • I pivoted based on actual data, not guessing what my audience would like
  • I was able to test a product's viability and do a beta launch all with Leadpages, without having to integrate any other platform

Rocking lead pages with Leadpages!

Pros

  • They are working hard to always improve their product.
  • They listen to their users and their suggestions on how to make Leadpage better.
  • Their pages look so much better than the ones we can create with the standalone infusionsoft product.

Cons

  • I can still incorporate our native form Thank You pages.
  • It can be a bit glitchy when moving around the various options. You hover over one element and the slightest movement gets you somewhere else.

Return on Investment

  • Our landing pages returned a much highter ROI over the native Infusionsoft landing pages.
  • It takes half the time to draw up a new landing page from scratch and get everything up and running.

Rigidity and Disregard

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Small Business Websites

Pros

  • Ease of use

Cons

  • Clear, upfront communication about the pricing structure and non-refundable nature of subscriptions is crucial. Ensuring customers are fully informed before commitment can prevent misunderstandings and foster trust between Leadpages and its users.
  • Adopting a prorated refund policy for early subscription cancellations can significantly enhance customer satisfaction. This change acknowledges varying customer needs and aligns with industry standards, potentially improving the company's reputation and customer loyalty.
  • Offering more flexibility and understanding in customer support interactions, especially in situations involving financial concerns, can make a substantial difference in customer perceptions. Personalized support and the willingness to consider exceptions can elevate the overall user experience.

Return on Investment

  • Leadpages' strict no-refund policy for annual subscriptions can leave customers feeling trapped and financially disadvantaged if the service no longer meets their needs.
  • The service's premium pricing is not clearly justified by distinct advantages over more affordable competitors, making it a less attractive option for cost-conscious businesses.
  • The customer support team's limited flexibility and adherence to policy over customer satisfaction can lead to frustrating experiences for users seeking assistance or exceptions.

Scale Landing Page Production and Free Up Design/Web Developers for High-Value Tasks

Pros

  • Leadpages has an easy-to-use inteface. Page-building elements are drag and drop, similar to some versions of Wordpress, so it's pretty easy for a newbie to pick up with little training.
  • Leadpages makes it easy to embed multimedia with simply an embed code. You don't have to know HTML to bring your pages to life with video, audio, etc.

Cons

  • While most of the editing functions are easy to figure out, some of the finer details to get spacing, sizing, alignment and layout just right can take some trial and error if you don't have formal training in the tool. A lot of the editing tools are collapsed into sections, and finding just what you're looking for can sometimes be a challenge.
  • I don't believe the version we used had a page optimizer or optimization score, which I have seen on other landing page builders. This may be a feature of a more premium version of the tool or may have been turned off by the product manager, but it would be a helpful feature.

Return on Investment

  • The most quantitative impact Leadpages had was in time saved and output increased. Without Leadpages, our design and web development team would have faced a bottleneck with the number of requests they'd have to fulfill for landing page creation, preventing them from working on higher-value, more complex tasks.

One Product My Business Will Never Be Without!

Pros

  • Creating professional landing pages in minimal time.
  • The ability to clone a landing page or lead box to modify and use for a different opt-in.
  • The analytics are a great resource.
  • The drag and drop templates have been an amazing addition to Leadpages.
  • The ability to customize many of the features.

Cons

  • Making the Leadpages and Leadboxes more customizable. The ability to use custom fonts would be wonderful.
  • Having more control over the layout of the Leadpage/Leadbox. For example, allowing for more columns or having a column with one row next to a column with three rows.
  • Sometimes it disconnects from Infusionsoft and I have to reset the permissions. Fixing this would be great.

Return on Investment

  • My list has grown from being in the hundreds to the thousands since starting with Leadpages.
  • I have been able to exponentially increase the number of opt-in opportunities I offer due to the ease of setting up a landing page or lead box.
  • The number of people opting in on my website has drastically increased due to the ability to have the leadbox and not just an open opt in form.
  • The leadboxes prevent robo-optins, therefore safeguarding my complaint list from fake optins with real email addresses.
