Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use KnowBe4 for our security awareness training, phishing tests, and phishing alerts. The product excels in all of these areas. We haven't found another product that competes adequately. KnowBe4 also comes with training in other related areas, such as compliance and safe practices. The phishing alerts, combined with their PhishER and PhishFlip functionality allows us to purge unwanted emails quickly from all users' mailboxes. The phishing tests can be very tricky to catch, and help train our staff to stay safe with their email practices.

Pros

Phish tests can be set to various difficulty levels as staff becomes more knowledgeable in catching phish emails.
Automated phish tests and training save a lot of admin time. The product can also test for phone and USB stick practices.
The phish alert button in Outlook, along with PhishER and PhishFlip allow easy managing and response to actual phishing emails.
The interactive training is well designed to cover all types of phishing and safe email and phone behavior.

Cons

Sometimes the admin interface can be a little confusing. If you begin to create a campaign but didn't create the groups you wanted to include first, you have to go back and create the groups first.
A few aspects of the admin interface are a little confusing when trying to drill down to some details of a campaign or a user.
It would be nice to have an alternate training course that presented the material a bit differently from the main training, for users who fail phishing tests multiple times.

Likelihood to Recommend

KnowBe4 is the best product we have found to automate our security awareness training and testing. The reports that come from each round of phish training are easy to manage, and remedial training for phish fails is automated and tracked in the product. The Phish Alert button, along with the PhishER feature (AI response to reported alerts), and the ability to remove verified phish emails from all mailboxes make managing dangerous emails easy for our small IT staff.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am an enduser of the software and we have required cybersecurity training to take on an annual basis. The software allows us to send Phishing emails to our Help Desk and they are able to determine if it is a real threat and take actions accordingly. The training I have taken is very well put together and entertaining as well as informative.

Pros

Training about cybersecurity.
Testing what you have learned.
Does a robust job with testing emails afterwards.

Cons

User interface seems good
Deepfakes and AI are hot topics
Mobile apps that are bad?

This platform provides good training about cybersecurity for our organization. The website and mobile app are easy to use and makes for a good experience for having a good training lesson. The quizzes are also fun to go through and see how good the scammers are in trying to compromise computer systems.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We leverage KnowBe4 for employee training on security awareness , compliance modules and also to train users on phishing simulation to prepare themselves for the real phishing attacks. Like every other tech company we need to make sure our people have the needed knowledge to the security subject , but in past we have seen the regulars content are sometimes repetitive and having a tough time to engage with users.

Use the program to train our users to be aware of phishing scams and emails. The program is mature here and pretty much on autopilot.

The templates take a little getting used to for the form letters it sends out with the training.

This program far exceeded expectations from day one. Even with astute users you have to test them and keep them on their toes. You can group failures into re-training or additional training sessions or more frequent testing.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it to help us train our employees about how to be vigilant around some of the ways bad actors can attempt to gain access to information, such as phishing emails. As well as using it in these areas, we also use it to provide additional education to those that may need it more often or as a refresher. We find it a valuable tool in our arsenal to help ensure our employees are kept safe but also aware of the company's security policy and the threats that exist in the world for corporations.

KnowBe4 spreading awareness about security, cyber attached, risk culture, how to protect data, and password policies. It [conducts pieces of training] on a rotational timing and making sure everyone has taken/understood the security concern which helps to keep the business at scale without any worrying.

GDPR policies [need] to be more in-depth since it's a broad area that needs little more details.
Information classification - though it is great but need to add more examples.
Identify theft - it's a serious concern to understand that you might get robbed or someone can steal [your] data without your consent. this has [been a bit] more specific and [added] more cases so that people can understand other ways to protect their data.

Setting up a training schedule was really easy for us. After running a phishing campaign, phish-prone employees can automatically be enrolled in a specific course. We are using KnowBe4 across the organization. The course catalog is really big, there is a course for almost cover everything. As a bonus, we really like courses on Data protection.

Pros

Automated simulation.
Custom template.
Good report.

Cons

There is no RBAC.
It is not easy to remove a user from a group.
The dashboard/GUI is lacking, not modern.

Likelihood to Recommend

This would be a great tool for medium to large organizations where a big portion of the workforce is not tech-savvy.

The KnowBe4 Security Awareness Training is used across the whole organization. The training is to make employees aware of security risks that each employee represents and how employees can minimize the risks for the company. Risks can be a data breach, phishing, data loss, network corruption, among other types of security breaches.

Pros

Provide the online training.
Keep employees always aware of risks.
Provide updates on new types of security risk.

Cons

Phishing simulation needs to be improved.
KnowBe4's emails are more naïve than actual phishing.
Would like to see analysis of real cases of security problems that happened with other companies.

Likelihood to Recommend

The training provides a minimum level of knowledge every employee should have on the company security risks. Furthermore, specialized training is needed for each different department or group inside a department. Employees that are always in contact with customers will have different training needs than others that don't work with external customers.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Once upon a time, we had no need for this type of training. We had a small pool of users who could even get emails or had internet access. These days everyone everywhere has email and internet access. That means we're all potential targets of hackers and phishers across the world.

Pros

Surprising amount of useful data for everyone
Easy enough for all user levels
Lots of videos on different security subjects

Cons

It's a bit pricey at the Diamond level.
Making custom campaigns would be helpful.
A way to verify a user actually watched a video would be neat.

Likelihood to Recommend

If they have a big budget for the best training, I would not hesitate to get someone on-board with KnowBe4. It seems that unless you're working for the special ops you're going to get spam/phishing these days. They're not the cheapest, but from what we've seen, they're among the best around.
