Jotform Apps Reviews & Insights

We have used Jotform Apps for several years, and were delighted to see them unveil Apps. We deployed our first app as a service for event attendees. Some observations: Easy to publish and access: The Power Web App platform used by Jotform makes apps simple to deploy. For our use case, this was preferable to publishing native apps in app marketplaces. Relatively easy to build: The builder interface, while slightly idiosyncratic, is effective. It works much the same as Jotform Apps' form builder--the familiarity is helpful. Limited power: Essentially, an App is a collection of links, pictures, and documents. These can be displayed as larger or smaller buttons. Links can point to Jotform forms, other pages in the app, or external URLs. Customization options for all of these items are limited. So, for instance, we displayed maps as pictures and a schedule as a PDF. Well enough, but this results in something like a mobile-friendly website more than a fully featured app.

Jotform Apps work well if you want to offer your users a feedback form, for instance, along with some useful links. For businesses that don't have a solid responsive website, an app would be a way to display basic information and offer some interaction in a mobile-friendly way.

Jotform App's no-code app development feature makes it incredibly simple for anyone in the business to create ideal apps. There are just a few form builders who provide such features to build your app with so many options. I am using using the Jotform Apps to get consumer feedback by publishing a readily customizable microsite.

We implemented for a customer to use as an intake form and integrated to Salesforce. It was relatively reliable, however there are better integration options. Jotform Apps is a simple integration, when most of our customers require more complicated integrations (multiple objects, automations, conditions etc). Upon creation we may want multiple records created, where as Jotform Apps works best as a lead intake, in my opinion. The use case our customer was solving for was program enrolment (program intake). It is a easy integration to the contact object, however when additional custom objects are needed, it is a bit limiting compared to to other form tools where multiple objects can be created/updated/deleted in on submit action. The ROI initially would have been great for our customers, however when they need a more complex form tool, the configuration and implementation time is increased if they out grow the tool.

Simple Lead form where a Web-to-Lead form is not complex enough. Simple intake collection. We implemented for program intake, but I feel the easier use case is for contact creation rather than custom object creation. If an individual is looking to register for a program, a Salesforce end user may need some manual work
