What is Jostle?

Jostle is intranet software for collaboration. Jostle is designed to make it easier to inform and connect employees to get work done. Users can share news, align teams, recognize contributions and invite participation from others. According to the vendor, Jostle can help improve employee engagement; Jostle reports engagement rates 5X higher than both traditional employee portals and social intranets. Company leaders can use Jostle to communicate plans, reinforce culture, and celebrate successes. Jostle runs in the cloud and requires no customization. It takes about a week to implement.

Simple, elegant collaboration. Jostle DISCUSSIONS helps teams get their work done. It enables private conversations, confidential team discussions and open “town hall” style forums. Attach files of any type. Employees can join in from their iPhone or iPad.
Simple events planning. Promote events that are org wide, or tied to specific teams or locations. Never again will your sales meeting be the same day as the new building opening.
Recognize co-workers. Everyone likes to be acknowledged. Shout-Outs provide a contagious way for everyone to recognize his or her peers. You can even recognize teams. Then everyone can pile on with a “like”.
Target the right people. Thanks to TEAMS® technology, you can target information to specific teams, roles or locations in a click. For example, publish a NEWS story that is only visible to engineers working in Germany.
Make info easy to find. LIBRARY gets critical content out of the chaos of file shares. Ensure the right people have secure access to the latest versions of sales materials, onboarding videos, forms, etc. Content ownership and permissions are always clear.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have used Jostle a little over a year now to engage with staff through the News bulletins feature as well as storing important documents/job aids for the team to have readily available via the intranet so they do not have to be chained to a PC all the time. Having job aids available on the teams phones has been a huge help and they love it. I also love being able to connect with my coworkers and celebrate their birthdays, work anniversaries or shout outs. I have not experienced any issues while using Jostle so I am unable to speak about any problems or issues. I think Jostle is a great product.

  • Positive: Being able to access the Library from the Jostle app on our phones while out in the field working with patients is incredible.
  • Positive: Being able to send an important memo and having the team sign off that they read it. As the manager being able to track who has read the memo and who hasn't.

Pros

  • I have been using this application and I feel like this is a good solution to all the relevant problems.
  • Communication is key when it comes to organizations and Jostle is rightfully solving this problem so that is why I like using the software because it has many positive things.
  • The intranet software of Jostle offers well-balanced functions and all possible features that are important for an organization.
  • It has responsive and well trained support.

Cons

  • Jostle has many advantages but there are certain disadvantages that need to be catered to in order to make the entire experience smooth and good. I think that the dashboard is not well designed. I feel like I have to go through a lot of navigation panels to find the right information. It takes too much time sometimes.
  • Another con in my opinion is that the library of Jostle needs a lot of customization and a lot of features have to be added to easily make other things accessible.

Pros

  • Jostle is a communication-based intranet solution available in the market to solve the biggest issue in the organization.
  • I have been using this platform for a very long time and it is coming out to be the best mode for me to be the best in the communication department.
  • Jostle is based on perfectly balanced functions and all possible needed features for the needs of our organization.

Cons

  • The biggest drawback that I have been facing for a very long time is that Jostle’s dashboard is not well designed and has all the feature that I needed on the go. I have to go through a lot of navigation panels to actually land on the right page or tool.
  • Secondly, needs more customization with the events function, which has to add more flexibility in operations to be able to customize the calendar. The library needs a lot of customization and a lot of features need to be added like different categories to easily access the different things.

  • File Sharing is its superb feature.
  • Its web application fascinates users.
  • Integration feature impressed me the most.

Return on Investment

  • Another main feature that I like the most is their Activity Feed feature, it helps our employees to stay connected with each other easily without any restriction of location.
  • The search bar is helping to manage the breeze easily. I have been very much impressed by their support staff.
