I'm an IT Support Specialist and we use Jamf Pro as our MDM for Apple devices. It's brilliant and makes our lives much easier when managing Macs/iPhones. It allows us to keep track of our devices, deploy software updates, troubleshoot issues, create smart/static groups, password managment and so on. From a users perspective I haven't come across any issues, it only enhanced our job day-to-day.
Pros
Allow us to create smart/static groups
Enroll and configure devices
Deploy software/application updates
Troubleshoot issues with devices
View logs such as computer usage logs/audit logs/policy logs etc
Cons
LAPS password management - don't include special characters to allow a clean copy/paste

I think Jamf Pro is mainly suited to larger companies however smaller businesses would also make good use of this software. Being a global company, we heavily benefit from this software. A prime example would be if a user from NZ for example had their laptop stolen, any IT support specialist from around the globe in our company could pick up this issue and lockdown the laptop via Jamf Pro preventing an avalanche of issues.

We utilize Jamf Pro to manage our fleet of Mac and iOS devices, which comprise at least half - 2/3 of the devices in our org. Prior to implementing Jamf Pro, there was a lot more manual setup and management of these devices. Since implementation we've saved countless hours of previously manually handled tasks.
Pros
Provisioning of new computers and devices - installation of basic settings and applications.
Enforcing restricted software policies, to keep the computers compliant and safe.
The remote lock and remote wipe is particularly useful for terminations and lost devices.
Cons
Integrated and unattended remote support has always been a pain point. Looking forward to when they will add this feature!
It would be nice to have some prebuilt workflows and scripts to easily select and use.
Likelihood to Recommend
Jamf Pro is well suited to manage iOS and MacOS devices for any medium to large sized organization. New device provisioning and management are its strong points. The product could be improved with better patch management and remote access features, but this is something I know Jamf has been working on implementing.

As a busy design studio, we don't have a dedicated IT person to manage our Macs. As a former Apple Genius, I saw how helpful having a mobile device manager could be. Although it was a little tricky to set up, once I went through the training, it was invaluable for me to manage our Macs—especially now that we are working in a hybrid mode after the COVID shutdowns. It's been so successful that we're expanding Jamf Pro to our other offices worldwide. The support is great, too. I highly recommend it. We're also rolling out Jamf Connect and Jamf Protect. We've tried other protects, and they don't work as well.
Pros
Inventory reporting
Push OS updates
Restrict software
Set up strict security measures
Cons
The training is a bit hard to follow, and classes are expensive
Dedicated support is very expensive and unfortunately necessary
Templates for standard tasks would be helpful

When managing Macs, there is no software better. It also seems that their integrated virus protection and active directory software are the best way to go. We've tried others. You can assess your inventory at a glance, create groups, and target specific computers for specific tasks. Plus, you could wipe a computer remotely if it is lost or stolen.
I use Jamf Pro to manage our Apple computers and devices. Jamf Pro is an easy to use MDM solution that allows for ease of management of these devices to make them more secure and line up with business goals. Jamf Pro allows me to think on other strategic work while I don't have to worry about the management and security of my devices.
Pros
MDM management
Encryption of devices
Empower the end-user
Cons
Dark Mode
Likelihood to Recommend
Jamf Pro is great at managing a devices settings. Configuration profiles such as FileVault encryption can be used to enable and enforce encryption on computers while escrowing a personal recovery key in the computer's Jamf Pro inventory record. If the user fails to remember their FV password, the PRK can be given to them.

We use Jamf Pro in our organization to manage our macOS devices. To be more specific, all security policies, data collection, software deployment, and maintenance and compliance management are delivered using Jamf. Our support teams are using Jamf to analyze computer performance and help users be more productive in their day-to-day device usage.
Pros
Scoping
Software distribution
Configuration profiles management
Cons
Closing known issues
Cloud infrastructure - sometimes nodes are not reliable
Likelihood to Recommend
Jamf is a perfect solution for enterprises and requires minimum effort. Once you set it up, it doesn't take much effort to keep it running. If you want to use it to collect an enormous amount of data from devices (performance, device characteristics, etc.), it might become complicated and require additional scripting skills.

We are using [Jamf Pro] to manage a fleet of Macs. It allows us to easily provide a Self Service portal to perform most business tasks. Also, we use the auto-enrollment functions to streamline setup and configuration of the Macs. This allows us to save hours trying to manually load software and create user accounts. The result is money saved and good will earned.
Pros
Self Service
Auto-Enrollment
User provisioning
Configuration Profiles
Updates
MDM commands
Cons
Better documentation on how to use new features
Pricing is way too high for cloud
Support can be a little slow at times
Likelihood to Recommend
[Jamf] Pro is well suited in single company environments. It has some issues when trying to implement in an MSP space as each client requires a separate JAMF Pro instance and website. There are API level tools to make the management easier, but it would be nice to see a central portal for all instances in a supported tool/website from [Jamf Pro].

We are using Jamf Pro to make sure all of our macOS systems are compliant with our IT Security policies. As well as a way to improve our support of macOs systems in our environment. Jamf Pro is used throughout the entire organization. It addresses our concerns about having unmanaged devices. We can push updates and other approved software, as well as enforce restrictions. It has been a tremendous help when performing audits.
Pros
Security Management
Software Deployment
Policy enforcement
Inventory
Centralized FileVault key storage
Remote support via Jamf Remote
Standardized settings
Great support staff
Cons
Add the ability to run scripts as a local user
Make it easier to brand Jamf Pro console with company logo
Add the ability to run policies in a specific order rather than alphabetically
Likelihood to Recommend
Jamf Pro is well suited for an environment where IT security is a major concern. Before Jamf Pro our environment was a hodge-podge, with macOS systems running various versions of the OS with varying versions of security updates and approved software. Jamf Pro helped us standardize our systems and enforce policies. Another benefit of having Jamf Pro is the ability to deploy systems quickly.
Jamf Pro may not be suited for environments where the systems can be easily managed.
The primary use case is to manage everything Apple in our environment. Everything from assigning the asset to the user, controlling licensing via App Store, custom policies and configurations. The goal is to ease the burden on our Service Desk, while also enabling the user to be more self sufficient. In the past I have used many MDM solutions and most of the time it came down to poor documentation with them compared to Jamf. We found the resources provided were more then enough to get us up and running. Plus the continued support from their staff have been awesome!
Pros
Jamf Nation - valuable information, tips, tricks and resources to go to when you might have issues. Often times the issue you are facing, isn't something new at all. There are always others who have run into it and can provide valuable insight to resolving. If it is something completely new, you have a plethora of other admins at your disposal who are able to quickly assist you.
Integrated patch management - easy to keep your software up to date on devices.
Cons
I think one of the big ones is automated device naming for Computers. You can do this via mobile devices in the pre-stage but not Computers. Having the ability to assign devices to a specific pre-stage enrollment group and having said group identify all systems via a specific prefix/suffix would benefit us a lot and keep a better consistency when it comes to users' machine names.
Improved Patch Management - This is in the works, I know, but having access to more applications or even improving the method to organizing/configuring patch management will be beneficial. Currently, it's a painful process to set it up.
Support for devices outside of Mac. A lot of Org's are looking to merge their fleet into a single MDM and while Jamf is the best I've used for Apple devices, having more functionality for devices outside of the Apple universe would benefit it in the eyes of other Org's.
Likelihood to Recommend
We have found Jamf to be the critical part to everything. Having the ability to automate our workflows has been great. Also having the knowledge base of other Mac Admins at our disposal with the Jamf Nation, that's something that very few if any, MDM providers have. We currently have a zero-touch workflow, we are able to deploy the full MS Office suite, complete encryption, block activation lock, all while the device is being enrolled for the first time. The user doesn't have to reach out to IT at all during the process which definitely improves the onboarding experience.
Jamf Pro is being used within the entire organization to manage our corporate Apple technology. We are using it to easily deploy laptops and mobile devices, and then manage the installed software / settings, ensure compliance, and handle patch management.
Pros
Device Provisioning
Patch Management
Self Service
Mobile Device Management
Cons
UI / UX - Self Service
macOS Update Management
LAPS Functionality
Binary Patching
Likelihood to Recommend
Jamf is great for managing a fleet of Apple devices with minimal human capital. It will take some time to set up all of the different aspects and features, but once you do, it pretty much just works. You can empower users to help themselves with Self Service, you can ensure device compliance with Configuration Profiles, lock down a compromised system with MDM commands, and keep users up to date with Patch Management. Areas where Jamf needs to improve are the user experience within Self Service and the Patch Management system needs to be more dynamic. It's not always easy to find things in Self Service and there are some current bugs that flood the user with unnecessary notifications and make it difficult to navigate. Patch Management needs to be adjusted to handle deferments / deadlines in a better way. It also needs to have a better handle on macOS system updates and updates to command line binaries. As of now, there is not a good way to use Jamf to manage these things.
